What's the best government job in India that most people don't know about?

The best government job in India today is the job of a faculty at an IIT or IIM.

Few people know that the College not only gets benefits and promotions on par with IAS, IPS, IRS etc, but they get so many other benefits that no public official in India gets.

I am reproducing some of the benefits that are not available even to India's top civil servants, as posted on the IIM Indore website.

FACULTY TITLES

2. Leave Institute Rules

Occasional leave: 8 days per year.

Restricted holidays: 2 days per year.

Half-pay license: 20 days per year.

Vacation leave: 60 vacation days per year.

FACULTY TITLES

2. Leave Institute Rules

Occasional leave: 8 days per year.

Restricted holidays: 2 days per year.

Half-pay license: 20 days per year.

Vacation leave: 60 vacation days per year. However, faculty members can take advantage of vacation for up to 30 days at a time (excluding summer vacation) and are encouraged to take summer vacation between April 15 and June 1. (NOT AVAILABLE FOR CIVIL OFFICIALS)

4. Academic assignments (NOT AVAILABLE FOR ANY CIVIL SERVANT)

4.1 Faculty Development Allowance (FDA):

Reimbursement of an amount of up to Rs 100,000 / - per year for items such as purchase of books, periodicals; or data sets for research purposes, attendance at national conferences / workshops / seminars / courses, etc.

Faculty members can use the FDA to plan international visits. Funds from the FDA can be used for travel, lodging and visa expenses related to such visits.

4.2 Full funding, once a year, to attend an international conference according to institutional rules. (MOST CIVIL SERVANTS VISIT ABROAD 4–5 TIMES ONLY IN THEIR CAREER)

4.3 Total funding to attend and present papers at national congresses.

4.4 A faculty member can consult 52 days a year. The Director may, at his discretion, extend this beyond 52 days. (THIS IS AN ADDITIONAL SOURCE OF INCOME FOR TEACHERS WHILE CIVIL OFFICIALS ARE PROHIBITED FROM DOING ANY OTHER COMMERCIAL WORK)

There are even more additional benefits for teachers such as:

  • Low working pressure
  • Less working hours
  • Older retirement age
  • Life stability (no transfer / shipping)
  • Excellent accommodation on campus.

I don't think there is a better government job in India than this.

Most people, however, are unfamiliar with these jobs.

Defense Jobs-Defense & Military is the best sector for jobs in India. They are the only ones who lead the life of giant officers despite being in a dirty country. The defense cantonment areas are a paradise. It is usually a city within a city, disciplined and orderly, orderly and clean. They have their own schools, hospitals, clutter, and even their own telecommunications network. No beggars, no slums, no garbage. Without political interference. There are no thugs within the area. “Shoot on sight” orders for trespassing. The benefits are simply unmatched. Even if you are a defense employee, the benefits and pension are incredible. Its clubs and alumni chapters and high class parties, free flowing liquor, bars and ball dancing,

Airport Authority Ground Personnel - Once again, you stay at the airport and can see and meet influential tourists like Jeff Bezos and celebrities alike.

Railways - Try a Class 1 officer, but even if you end up landing a job as a train conductor or a guard in the last open car of a freight train, that's fine, your pension is protected. At your leisure in the last car (also called a brake van or guard coach), you can read a book while enjoying the vast lands of India for free. Your family also receives free tickets. Again benefits and pensions from the central government.

State Primary Education Teacher or University Teacher-9 to 5 jobs. No tension. Extensive campus to live in and great respect in society. The alumni network builds up over the years and so does their respect. You are more powerful than a politician that way, people from all walks of life, even future politicians and celebrities could be your students.

Public Sector Units - Working in a Navratna power supply unit has central government benefits that are generally higher and superior to those of a state government. Those at Navratna are in banking, insurance, oil, gas, metals and minerals, usually very cash rich.

One of RBI's protégés is working with a multinational bank. Receive a great pay package at the end of the month. He leaves home at nine and returns at nine. Sitting in the chair all day has given her chronic back pain.

Most of my friends and acquaintances from my father's RBI days are from elite universities. A significant percentage is established in the United States.

My father worked five days a week. He would be back home at six. The afternoon hours would be spent flipping through the newspaper and helping the children with their studies. Nobody there, it was for license plates. But most of the children made it to the best schools of engineering and medicine.

Every year, most went to their hometowns. There would be a 40-day annual leave for all first class travel fare employees.

Medical bills and housing allowances are always covered. My father developed acute medical problems in old age. He received treatment in the best hospitals. The bank took care of the high bills.

"Indian Fighter Jet Pilot"

Here you will be dealing with the highest performance machines in India. When it comes to India, there is only one word left which is Mig-29K. I firmly believe that Indian Navy fighter jet pilots have the most elegant job in the world. Because they fly the all-weather carrier-based Mig-29K multi-role fighter jet, which is nothing more than a demon in the air.

To get the job, you must first pass the written test, such as NDA (after 12), CDS, or AFCAT (after UG). If you pass the written exam, the following is an interview conducted by the Air Force National Team

To get the job, you must first pass the written test, such as NDA (after 12), CDS, or AFCAT (after UG). If you pass the written exam, Next is an interview conducted by the Air Force Selection Board (AFSB). It has 2 stages.

  1. Officer Intelligence Qualification Test (OIRT) and Image Perception and Discussion Test.
  2. After passing stage 1, the 2nd stage of the AFSB interview will proceed, which will consist of psychological tests carried out by a psychologist, group tasks and a personal interview.

After successfully passing the 2 stages of AFSB, the next one is the Computerized Pilot Selection System CPSS exclusively for the IAF flight department. Please note that you can only take this exam once in your life! This will include written and mechanical tests to assess you based on your ability to read instruments, control of your actions and mental strength, etc. If you manage to pass the CPSS and your medical exam, you will be admitted to the Air Force Wing of the NDA / AFA (in the case of CDS and AFCAT).

During training at the Air Force Academy, Dundigal, based on your performance in the basic flight course and vacancies, you will be assigned a combat, transport, or helicopter stream.

The benefits and pay are almost the same as an IAS official or any other bureaucrat. In reality, in these jobs no one is going to talk about money. It's about quality of life. The quality of life is amazing. The kinds of amenities they get are hard to come by elsewhere. Mainly, we will spend our lives with really smart and honest people, and that is a reward in itself. Also, if you have kids, their lives are pretty orderly in terms of the kind of good people they grow up with, the kind of fresh air they breathe, and the extracurricular activities they can take advantage of. Your education and growth are taken care of, even if you are out of town for weeks or months.

Meet Avani Chaturvedi, the first Indian women to break the sound barrier with resonant sonic booms on a Mig 21K, a supersonic flight all alone.

This is clearly a job for the adrenaline junkies of our country. Also to become an Astronaut in our country, in addition to other tests, you need a previous experience of 3 years as a Pilot in the Air Force. I used to get goose bumps when a Mig or any fighter plane appeared in the air over our institute. Anyway someday… ..

One of the best government jobs I found is a civil engineer in the Border Roads Organization (BRO) or BRES (Border Highway Engineering Services), as it is called in the UPSC Engineering Services Exam.

As soon as you join BRO, you are dispatched to one of their units located somewhere exotic along the border areas of India. In any of these units you get the following facilities:

  11. A lot of travel (good if you like to travel).
  12. Armed guards for your safety.

Above all these facilities, as a civil engineer, you can work on challenging projects and directly contribute to the security of the nation, as the roads built by BRO are used by the Indian Army for their deployment. In short, if these roads were not there, then the Indian Army could do little to protect our country.

You can also live in a pollution-free environment for your entire life.

I would encourage young and budding civil engineers to join and contribute to nation building.

One might like an engineer - one who wants a good salary and a good lifestyle on the other side - one who wants to work hard, do research, secure the nation, invent new technology for his great nation or for humanity. wants to contribute to the nation or humanity just like the Indian rishi in ancient times.

The same of the last more than 65 years, the PMs of India enjoyed power and life, but today we have a great PM who does not enjoy his power, but does the best for the nation and calls himself Pradhan Sevek. Bharat continues to grow in all areas after his leadership.

I can only say that everything is sanskar, where people come from, their family origin, religion, circle of friends, all are responsible for the thought process that helps develop their personality.

The job that seems best to me is that of a government primary and secondary school teacher at UP. There is a tenant in my house who works as a primary school teacher. He goes at 9 in the morning and returns at 3 in the afternoon (6 hours including travel) and on Saturday he returns around 12 hours (3 hours including travel) with a salary of 40- 45k per month (new employee) with many free sheets (about 1 week vacation per month, they manipulate your licensing records).

There is no stress of solving any competitive exam, just b.ed and nowadays they ask tet, which is not that difficult.

GOVT work that only a few may be familiar with is RBI GRADE B.

When it comes to the “best government job,” what everyone would see is the SATISFACTION level.

When we compare the level of job satisfaction as a GRADE B manager at a PROMINENT institution like RBI it is much better than any job at any institution.

SALARY

It is the highest paying government JOB in terms of CTC down to the freshest entry level. Currently the CTC is around 16-18 LPA (due to salary review, please expect 21-23 LPA after agreement)

Work pressure

Marginal work pressure in most of RBI department, 5 work days, fixed work hours, etc.

You can continue higher education even abroad.

So far, not all the answers have understood it, they are somewhat biased. It is true that the IIM faculty, the IIT faculty, and the IAS offer certain exciting career paths. However, comparing IIM faculty, IIT faculty, and IAS as a career is to compare an apple, a banana, and a watermelon.

Faculty jobs are even better than IAS jobs - good for IIMs, to some extent for IITs, NITs, but not for other institutes.

Although IIT professors also perform well, they pale in comparison to IIM professors.

There will hardly be anyone from IIM who will support this, why should they do it to stand out? However, I have a different opinion, if they stand out

Although IIT professors also perform well, they pale in comparison to IIM professors.

There will hardly be anyone from IIM who will support this, why should they do it to stand out? However, I have a different opinion: if they are highlighted, then what?

Read below and you will know.

{EDIT: Hopefully with this ** reveal ** many more quality candidates will be drawn to IIMs as teachers, in the process of making IIMs even better and thus moving India forward }

The IIM faculty has:

  1. The lowest overall workload, the lowest stress, the best possible quality of life: the number of students to manage and the number of "branches" (as they are called in IIT / NIT / Engineering) are very few. Students are also PG (graduate level) versus in any Engineering (IIT, NIT or whatever), students enter after Class XII (considering B.Tech as their overwhelming offer). How different is the workload of managing many times more Class XII + students versus managing a much smaller number of hardcore engineering graduates from IIT, NIT, etc. who have also been disciplined by Corporate Work-ex for some years? (since most IIMs recruit candidates who mainly belong to these institutes).

Both the number of students and the number of branches pale in comparison to IIT / NIT / engineering. The amount of answer books, tests, projects, this that ... everything that adds to the academic workload, is therefore much less. Much less complexity due to much less diversity and much smaller volume of work, in general much less stress and much better quality of life.

Add to that the much more immersive M.Techs, Ph.Ds workload at IIT. The installation of equipment, experiments, laboratories, etc. Compared to that, in IIMs, in which laboratories or equipment or experiments does a faculty have to be involved? The FPM (the doctorate) offered by the IIM is based mainly on literature surveys that the candidates themselves must carry out and excavate, with the least participation and guidance from the faculty. It is the work of a donkey, which, once the proposal stage is over, can be a quarterly review with the faculty member. Compare that to IIT or NIT? You really have to know what you are comparing!
  2. Requires the least time for class preparation, especially traditional management areas (HR, Marketing, Fin): management education is not like technology, it is not evolving at the same rate, rather, education In traditional management, in some cases, even the books (or at least most of the content), etc., are the same since the faculty members themselves were students. However, some faculty members in Information Systems Management or evolving areas may need to go to the trouble of keeping up with technology - even that is optional. Compared to traditional management areas, few teachers need to make significant changes to slides, cases, or material from year to year.
  3. Therefore, the IIM faculty has the most time available to get involved in social initiatives (for those of you who wish to be 'agents of change') and advise
  4. Being IIM you now come to reason, being the most important brand, and there are quite a few teachers in each IIM (due to the 'seniors club' and due to biased and opaque recruitment processes, which are loosely worded in white and black, but can be tailored to suit favored youth profiles (without first considering what is necessarily in the national interest, ensures that there are always far fewer teaching staff than necessary so that more than enough fruit is distributed to the privileged few) So EVERYONE of the IIM faculty has GUARANTEED access to ladder opportunities that most IIT / NIT faculty have to first compete with each other and others with political jack, and they are lucky to get. EDIT :a part of the previous paragraph has been clarified to anticipate how recruitment sometimes occurs even in IIM

By ensuring that there are so few professors in each area in each IIM when demand is literally on the verge of exploding, IIM professors are automatically invited, attracted and involved in the social sector, in consulting paid to the government, etc. through various projects. This means huge amounts of money with literally no one to compete with, a near "complete monopoly" (I am aware that "complete" can be an oxymoron when used with monopoly, but do you get the point?)

So this "completely monopoly" position pays tons of benefits, including money and lifestyle. Most IIM professors do very well on their own: they file huge income tax returns, year after year. Imagine the sum of retirement, for someone who becomes a teacher at the age of 30 at an IIM. The numbers will put even the CEOs of anything other than Fortune 500 companies in India to shame. That's all I can say, without giving it all up!

Compare this to IAS - as the original post author has also said, in 2-3 years of being a DM etc, how much can an IAS officer raise? After that "promotion" to the Secretariat means that only "big shots" with the right connections and ties can continue to build fortunes safely. And with increasing stature, IAS officers tend to go unnoticed, so doing more and more becomes more difficult. Although in some cases, the so-called "smart" IAS officers have made several hundred million rupees by the time they were caught.

What does this mean, in a nutshell? Choose IIM faculty, then IIT faculty, and then IAS, in that order, if you want pure white money and a lot of money, while staying in a literally undisputed position that gives you the least stress and one of the best styles of business. life I may have. in India (within the government sector, the scope of this discussion).

EDIT: One should never ask for the disclosure of someone else's income tax figures. So please don't even ask. If you google variations on this theme, Google can give you some back issues, which I found unrepresentative anyway due to the context in which those numbers have been cited. However, if you have contacts and confidants at IIM, you will know a lot more than this.
