A look at some tips on how to pass the GATE test and get the highest score.

10 tips to get the highest score in GATE:

  • The exam is taken for admission to postgraduate programs (eg ME, MTech, PhD direct) in Indian higher education institutes with financial assistance provided by the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) and other government agencies.

This exam requires a lot of preparation, planning, and proper management.

  • Here are 10 tips on how to pass the exam and get the highest score:

1. The preparation time for GATE depends on many factors, such as aptitude, attitude, fundamentals, level of concentration, etc. of the person.

2. Generally, a rigorous preparation of four to six months is considered good, but it can vary from student to student.

3. The candidate should consult the syllabus and analyze the exam pattern using the work from previous years and prepare accordingly.

4. It is important to know what to study, but it is more important to know what not to study.

5. A clear understanding of the underlying concepts is imperative, as the questions asked on the GATE test will assess the level and depth of understanding of the concepts.

6. As not all subjects have the same grades, few subjects are preferred over others.

7. Make a list of topics that need to be studied based on the number of questions that have come up about the topic on the GATE tests from previous years.

8. Identify the topics that have received the most ratings and give them more importance during their preparation.

9. Create a timeline for studying the topics and follow it strictly. As you study any topic, be sure to highlight important points such as key definitions, equations, derivations, theorems, laws, etc.

10. Assign preparation time to subjects according to the number and frequency of questions asked in previous exams.

Hello there,

There are so many cheats available online. Most ideas are based on individual experiences that are influenced by the subject's personal confidence and educational background. So ideas must be respected for their individual ingenuity.

Ultimately, you need to know all the tricks and methods to open the GATE. But what should apply to you depends solely on your learning style (which you are well aware of, I hope!).

Now the real question is "How?"

I would say that if you are just starting prep and want to be successful in breaking the GATE then you will have to work on your PSYCHOLOGY, KNOWLEDGE AND PRACTICE. If you are missing any of them, only miracles can help you get things done.

  1. PSYCHOLOGY: If you've asked this question here, then I can roughly assume that you probably don't know so many people personally, around you, who have broken the GATE with a good score or at least made it through with some survivability score. !!!! So then then the first thing you have to do is make sure your mind accepts the fact that YOU CAN CRACK IT GOOD SCORE WITH HEALTHY AIR (ALL RANGE OF INDIA). You will have to tell yourself over and over again, since the only person who can motivate you is you. Believe it firmly. Once you've decided to go down this path, don't listen to anyone (or ignore it !!) saying something negative about the difficulty or importance of GATE. Watch online videos showing interviews of candidates who have opened the door with good AIR. Checking their previous academic records, they are not necessarily having a good percentage in academics but they have still done it with great results. If they can do it, why can't you? Develop this motivation and move forward with unstoppable momentum. Many people apply for GATE in September, but about 70% of them lose motivation until December of the year. Make sure you take an oath before God that you will prepare for GATE with all your effort without worrying about the results. Prepare for GATE as if you have no other options left in your career. Make sure you take an oath before God that you will prepare for GATE with all your effort without worrying about the results. Prepare for GATE as if you have no other options left in your career. Make sure you take an oath before God that you will prepare for GATE with all your effort without worrying about the results. Prepare for GATE as if you have no other options left in your career.
  2. KNOWLEDGE: The general pattern for the GATE test has been like ___ 15 for Math, 15 for proficiency and English, 70 for core subject. You can get the list of important books required for the preparation of the tips online. Take notes from those books for easy review. Use some prepared notes from MADE ESAY and ACE for reference. I worked hard, studied basic subjects and mathematics very well. Make a list of individual subject topics that are frequently asked each year. Focus on these topics if you are short on time for preparation. But, if you have time, do your best to complete the program with a quality understanding of each topic. Discuss your everyday learning with your friend. These will definitely improve your knowledge and confidence. It will be easy to remember during your exam, because the discussion creates an impact on the mind that makes it easy to remember things during the exam. This is crucial, because during GATE, you are handling approximately 20-25 subjects simultaneously. Be sure to review the topic frequently so it is easy to remember during the test.
  3. PRACTICE: Just knowing how to drive a car will not make you an F-1 driver !! Are you motivated? ,,,Yes OK. Do you have solid technical knowledge? ,,, Yes very good. But, but, but, if you have not practiced well, I am sorry to tell you that you cannot do it. So what to do ???, Simple !, PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE. Solve question papers from the previous year, solve unsolved problems (these will greatly strengthen your confidence), take part in free online tests, solve full question exams in a predefined time. Numerical practice of technical and mathematical subjects.

And last but not least, have faith in god. He is watching everything, so if your intentions are good and you are preparing a lot, believe that you are already on the road to success. Burn yourself so brutally with your hard work that when you look back, you appreciate your struggle more than your success. Just make sure you focus on these parameters, God will definitely help you achieve what you want!

God bless you!!!

Jai Hind!

First of all, I want to congratulate you on your decent performance in GATE.

I am writing this answer based on statistics from GATE'18.

The 9000 rank is a decent rank, because you've done better than 1.91,000 students. (Approx. 2 Lakh Students appeared at GATE'18).

But sadly, considering the number of seats available (both PSU and M. Tech), it's not a good rating. I think you have also noticed.

In India, there is fierce competition in all walks of life. But when it comes to Core-Branches (Mechanical, Electrical and Civil), the level of competition takes a giant leap.

So what can you do now?

You can present this range in terms of percentile, using the following formula:

If I enter your range (9000), I get the 95.5th percentile as the result.

On your CV, under the headings of 'Test Scores' or 'Achievements', you can mention:

"GATE'18: 95.5 percentile (out of 2 Lakh students)"

  • If you finally make it to the interview, you can convince the recruiter of your 'Technical Aptitude' and describe how difficult it is to get these qualifications in the face of such fierce competition.
  • Also, if you plan to apply for master's or higher studies, this point will definitely add value to your profile and make it stronger.

~ All the best for you, for your future projects.

It really depends on the power source and the number of vaccines in it. I will share my experience so far ...

(I got AIR 123 in mechanics in Gate 2017.)

1) I got a call from bpcl and there I found a lot of students with a range close to 1300. So this program shows that they can call it even if it is anywhere above AIR 1500.

2) Now taking the example of other power supplies like BHEL. I don't know the rank, but when I saw him cut, he was qualified for the interview. So they may have called up to rank 123 only (for general).

3) For ONGC the cut changes depending on the position you choose. The cut is different to pierce

4) My friend (AIR 884) and I received an interview call from IOCL. So they may be calling those who are below 1000.

5) Now for BARC, there are two ways to get a call for an interview. One is the Gate and the other is the BARC exam itself. I was selected based on the score of the door. The cutoff for gene was 824.

I'll update when I get other calls from PSU.

Edit: I got mail from NTPC today, the cut and range marks of which are shown in the screenshot below,

Good afternoon everyone.

  • Ultimately, it depends on your interest. How smart are you? What is your CGPA? all of these matter. Whether or not you are placed depends on your performance on the written test and the interview.
  • At the very least, try the GATE test, which will help you understand the subjects. If you are unsuccessful, quit.
  • Take some short courses like AutoCAD and the new courses that have come out recently that will enhance your resume and help you get a job.
  • Only the title of BE does not look for you a job.
  • Due to the pandemic, many companies have postponed their hiring process.

Unlikely. In my experience, companies don't really care much about GATE. You are still expected to pass your interviews (probably even a written test).

However, if you get an excellent rank in GATE, your chances of entering a company would improve, but it is still not guaranteed.

Each company will have a hiring policy, which will depend on the type of work they do. GATE clearly doesn't fit into any of those policies.

The options are many!

Before I was not aware of the opportunities available through GATE, but now I have an idea about it.

Let me help you in the best way possible ➡

  1. PSU (public sector companies such as ONGC, IOCL, NTPC, SAIL, BHEL, NPCIL, etc.)
  2. BARC (not a power supply, it is a central government organization)
  3. NITIE Mumbai (Best if you want a life full of challenges and want to live a managerial life. It would be a kind of dynamic life meeting new people and developing your personality)
  4. M-Tech and MS (from IISC, IITS, NITS, IIITS, etc.)
  5. CSIR (5-year research scholarship program)

  7. FPM (Scholarship Program in Administration: from IIM for 5 years with a stipend of around 30 to 35k)

What matters now is how well you are prepared for the exam and how well you will perform in those 3 hours.

Hope everything goes well.

I have mentioned all those opportunities that I am aware of. I would like to wholeheartedly accept and learn about other possible options through GATE in the comment section.

Thank you!

it totally depends on the category and rank. As we know, the rank of each year varies with the brands. for example this year with 60 brands (for Mechanic) the range is around 5k (I guess) but it was not the same as in previous years.

To get admission to IIT, you also have to face a written interview or both, which also plays an important role. In some cases, the written exam also works as a knockout round (for example, this year iit gn called around 1000 students for 40 seats and they only selected 173 students for interviews out of around 500 (present during the written exam).

so I want to convey that if you have less th gate score

so I want to convey that if you have lower entry score then you can also enter iits with good performance in writing and in interviews.

With 60 points, with good writing and interview performance, you can easily get admission to new iits (Iit gn, BBS, JODH, INDORE, Dhanbad, etc.).

varies from year to year and depends on the difficulty level of the exam.

GATE 2017 scenario for me

  • Rank / Brands * / Score
  • 01 / 94.85 / 992
  • 19 / 89.89 / 941
  • 45 / 87.50 / 916
  • 50 / 87.61 / 912
  • 90 / 85.56 / 896
  • 98 / 85.21 / 892

* Standard markers
