What job do I get after qualifying for TCS NQT? Is it a support job? Does support work mean customer support?

Once selected after awarding TCS NQT, you will be assigned a Developer role (Developer includes: Support Developer or Test Developer or Development from Scratch) and your designation will be Assistant Systems Engineer - Apprentice. You will remain an apprentice for one year. TCS has a variety of projects that can be broadly classified as Support and Development, but now TCS has a concept of DevOps that includes both Support and Development. If you are lucky you can enter a Development ...

Everything in the service-based business depends on the requirements. You do not need to get a support job after you qualify for NQT. So it is better when RMG assign you, you can confirm the type of project and the profile offered.

Support work doesn't mean customer support, it means application support.

A career at TCS is as safe as possible! People often compare it to government jobs in terms of job security. It has also earned the label of being like a government job in a private sector.

This is a known fact that TCS seldom fires anyone. If you continue to perform below average over the years, you will remain in TCS; maybe your salary increase is comparatively lower than others. But he will not be fired on TCS performance grounds.

Unless I violate some HR policy, I haven't seen anyone fired. Even if you violate one by mistake, you still get ample warnings. I won't mention this in detail intentionally, but we've had security breaches due to employee errors on our project three times. Every time the person in question was warned by human resources, but no action was taken. The level of violations was such that, had it been a different company, it could have fired those employees.

TCS policies are known to be employee friendly. That's why many late-career IT professionals join TCS and retire happily without stress or worry. Its medical policy is one of the best among IT industries in India. They hardly laid off staff, even during the pandemic they stayed true to their word and didn't lay off anyone while other companies laid off thousands of employees every day.

However, job security also has its downsides. Employees tend to relax a lot and take it easy, so their productivity suffers. Many are too comfortable in TCS that they don't feel like stepping out of their comfort zone and trying to switch to a better job. But yes, there is no risk involved in this place. I know that many IT employees say they are unsure of their work; They can be laid off any day or suffer a massive layoff if the company goes into a loss. It's not the same with TCS, which is why it's probably compared to government jobs often.

There is no one word answer. But yes, for me it was.

I was a college recruit. Not many companies visit private universities, so landing any job at my university was considered a success. Also, getting a job in the first interview was also considered brilliant. So yeah, being hired by TCS felt like a blessing back then because I saw how hard my fellow college students had to struggle to get a job off campus.

I made 6 friends at ILP, all trained in Java. One was forced to do manual testing, another to Mainframe, another to DevOps (it only did deployments through a tool), another was used to assign issues to

I made 6 friends at ILP, all trained in Java. One was forced to do manual testing, another to Mainframe, another to DevOps (only did deployments through a tool), another used to assign problems to developers (yes! That was exactly his job), another was in the banking domain where you worked on the user interface (that's because you fought so hard to get a better project that involved fighting, crying, and begging).

Luckily, I got an internal interview for a project. Actually, all thanks to Gobika ma'am, my HR domain, that I had the opportunity to work on a healthcare project. I worked on Struts, Spring, REST, built microservices, did implementations. I was working with clients from the US and I had the privilege of working from home whenever necessary. They gave me a personal Macbook Pro.

So while I was having a lot of fun, my friends struggled and eventually got frustrated and switched to Oracle, Pega, Deloitte, Copart.

Even though my work was great, the pay was really bad. After getting the highest rating, I still got a 1,200 / - monthly raise. So I switched to Verizon with a 100% raise.

If you get a good project, stay and learn because TCS colleagues are so helpful. My friends will agree with this too. You have plenty of time to catch up, which you won't get in product-based businesses if you have 2 years of experience. My friends had to struggle initially after changing.

If you don't get a good project, change it as soon as possible. The longer the delay, the harder it is to get a good job as you will definitely be asked about the project you worked on and if your work is not impressive you will not be hired no matter how much knowledge you have. Although the above rule becomes null and void if you have above average coding skills and knowledge of data structures, algorithms.

Above all, salary is important, and unfortunately TCS has the worst policy on hikes and promotions, so for a better salary, switch at the end of the second or third year.

Being a new, if you are not from a reputed university or college, never miss this opportunity. Grab it as fast as you can. Keep the following points while working with any service-based industry

  1. Regardless of what technology you are trained in and what project you are in, try to learn the latest and greatest technology. For ex. In this world driven by data, data analytics, data mining, big data, data science, etc. are the jobs that are currently in demand. These types of jobs will provide you with a high salary and learning opportunities.
  2. Try to learn as much as possible. Even if you are in a support project, try to understand the what, how and why of the task you are doing. This will help you develop and acquire domain knowledge.
  3. Don't be demotivated by the work you are doing. Hard work will pay off in the long run.
  4. If you are not from IT, plan ahead if you want to have a career in IT or if you want to pursue higher education, M. TECH, BANK PO, PSU jobs. I know that many of us joined this organization with this intention. There is nothing wrong with it, but plan ahead or less after 2 years and you won't end up anywhere.

All in all, I would say that it is enthusiasm and interest that will decide what kind of career you will have here at TCS.

Keep learning, stay motivated, and do your best.

It had been taken on July 20, 2018 and Premium Colleges students had only participated in this test. The payment package offered to students is also very high but lower than TCS Innovator, ie 6–7 LPA.
  3. TCS Recruitment 2018 for TCS Ninja: Also for TCS Ninja, a national qualification test will be held to recruit students. Most likely, it was scheduled to take place in the months of August or September. All students who pass this national test will be hired. Also, this test is for all eligible students across India. Students who perform well on the TCS Ninja National Qualification Test will also have the opportunity to play the TCS digital role. The average package can be between 4 and 5 LPA.
  4. TCS Recruitment for TCS Smart 2018: For the TCS Smart role, the payment package offered to the student is comparatively less than the others. Expect a package of around 3.5 LPA.

I hope your queries are resolved.

Peace :)

First off, congratulations on landing the TCS ninja job!

The point is, all service companies are the same, whether it's TCS, Cognizant, or Infosys. There is only a slight difference in the paid packages they offer.

I have offers from Cognizant and Infosys myself, but I am going to join Cognizant because there is the possibility of staying in my hometown, which is a huge bonus.

I think you should join TCS as it is the largest IT company in India with more than 4 lakhs of employees. You also have many offices in India, so there is a possibility that you will stay in your hometown.

And lastly, TATA takes great care of its employees! You will never be fired from your job, job security is very high at TCS!

So if you only have the TCS offer in hand, go for it; otherwise if you get a product based on a product or as a top package deal from Infosys then you should go to Infosys or any other different company!

The answer will be a bit harsh.

Go ahead and join the company if you don't care about your future. That place sucks, man!

They have hired so many people that you will feel lost in the crowd. All unnecessary rules and regulations.

They will pay you much less. The workplace is suffocating.

If you are really interested or have no other option, try another company. At least the package wi

I have wasted almost 2 years of my career on tech support. Don't take it lightly.

The level just above SDE III (also known as a senior software development engineer) is called a principal engineer (PE). PE technical employees and above are considered company-level resources. All members of the company can contact them for any kind of help related to the company.

PE's main responsibility is to implement and maintain a strong vision for your organization (have at least 1000+ technical employees) by knowing the technical demographics and business needs of your organization.

I hope this helps!
