Not good news

Get in touch with your former teachers. This is how I got a landscape architecture job after a year of searching. He knew a firm owner who was looking for ... Needless to say, I bought my professor the best bottle of whiskey I could find for that favor.

Or look in college towns, state capitals, or the Midwest in general (with the exception of Illinois and Michigan). These places have not seen the total collapse of their economies. Omaha only has 4% unemployment and the state is the third lowest in the nation for the unemployed right now. Trust me, I didn't want to end up here, but here I am ... grateful to be employed.

Also consider interning with a federal agency. I worked for the National Park Service while searching. It lasted only three months, but it gave me the experience I needed and probably the best job I have ever had. Consult the official Federal Government employment site.

There are various government jobs in government architecture colleges and universities. In other government-funded fields that are specific to construction, planning, urban development, housing projects, there are some vacancies. However, the numbers are low compared to other sectors and vacancies are few, as people who opt for government jobs tend to stay there for years.

There is scope for young graduates such as junior urban planners, planning assistants, assistant professors, etc. and the older ones have positions in government projects as chief architects, consultants, professors, directors, etc.

Some of the skills that most government organizations look for in an architecture graduate are their spatial planning and design skills, materials knowledge, practical site knowledge, safety rules, management skills, ability to produce efficient designs in the field. given budget, etc.

The most common responsibilities that fall upon B.arch graduates are construction project supervision, planning, and design.

Hello there

Sorry to shatter your dream, but government sector job opportunities are very rare as architecture.

As an architect, you can be more successful as a freelancer, as it is a professional title as a doctor, lawyer, etc.

I am sure that before opting for this course you should have discussed the various options as a graduate after completing the course.

Well, how many vacancies did you see in the government sector?

Certainly all the government sector departments are releasing few vaccines, but that is very few and rare.

Certainly all the government sector departments are releasing few vaccines, but that is very few and rare.

Since the seats are few, the people who got a job in the government also do not give up the comfortable job in the government and stick to it.

For example, as an engineer, you can get a job at PSU, and if you are not satisfied, you can seek engineering services, etc. (although that is also very difficult).

But in the case of architecture, general vaccinations across the country are lower.

You can also be sure that the central government exams remain transparent, but when it comes to working in state government in a specialized sector, I'm sure you are smart enough to know how things work there.

Remember that a woman who worked in 20 different government schools in uttar pradesh was getting a salary credit of 20 people per month

So now imagine.

On a positive note, there are always few who pass the exam no matter what ... if you are in that category, say hi ...

There are not many positions in the Government for Architects. PWD will have a chief architect branch with a few working under them at various levels. Similarly, the Irrigation Department will have a similar Unit, but with fewer staff. The Government Engineering School, if it has an Archotherapy Division, may have one Professor and two or three Assistant Professors. If there is a separate Faculty of Architecture, it may have five or six regular faculty members, while Senior Architects in independent practice may also be private tutors.

A better way to enter government would be to take an Extyra course in urban and rural planning, urban design for futuristic habitats, etc., which can help you find a job in municipal corporations, planning and development boards, etc.

There is a lot of scope, but let me tell you. Most government projects are delivered through tenders to private architectural firms and contractors. But we really need good architects in the government department, as the dispensary or the school or any similar structure lack the basic facilities like light and ventilation. But as a passionate architect, you can't do a lot of experiments and there is also a lot of corruption in this industry.

Government jobs after B.Arch are as section engineer, branch engineer, in layout design and other jobs in building model design and creation. B. Candidates for arch are required by the Department of Railways, the Department of Post and Telegraph, and the National Building Organization. A good B. Arch candidate could land good jobs in central government departments like public works departments or housing boards or housing and urban development corporations.

Indian Government Hiring of Architect in Grade - Position A

IArS (Indian Architecture Service) is Grade A position under Central Government of India, CPWD recruiting architect for design of various departments like Housing Board, IIT, IIM, etc.

In IArs the candidate is given the same position that is given to IES both IES and IArS are in the same department That is, the central department of public works

All the best

You can test on railways, Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPRD), various municipal corporations, organizations like Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL), Kolkata Port Trust, etc.

The scope is in the private sector. In government there is not much scope. The government is getting things done through contractors. There is no need for full-time architects in government departments or offices.

When it comes to architect work, there is also a scope in the government sector and a hierarchy up to the chief architect similar to the chief engineer is available.

Hello there,

There are many options right after architecture if your university does not have placement programs, but I am afraid that most of them would be from the private sector and not the government. However, I personally don't see it as a problem unless getting a government job is your only goal. I will list some of the options for both the government and the private sector.

Government sector:

Hello there,

There are many options right after architecture if your university does not have placement programs, but I am afraid that most of them would be from the private sector and not the government. However, I personally don't see it as a problem unless getting a government job is your only goal. I will list some of the options for both the government and the private sector.

Government sector:

1. You can watch out for the PWD (Department of Public Works) or CPWD (Central Department of Public Works) hiring cycles for the vacancies for architect positions in various departments within them. These are usually positions for which examinations are carried out like other governments. works.

2. Several nationalized banks have vacancies for architects (for example, SBI), although these would be occasional and in the last 4 years, that is, after graduation, I have come across only one vacancy of this type.

3. Keep checking your state departments of urban development, they may have openings.

4. Urban Planning Departments (they are more likely to have planner vacancies, but there is no harm that I am checking as they would be working in the urban development sector).

5. State Housing Boards.

6. Basically keep checking any government department involved in development projects. If not, they may not have positions for architects, but they will require them for different projects and these can become long-term offerings.

7. If you are interested in teaching, you can also look for teaching positions in various SPA (School of Planning and Architecture) and NIT (National Institute of Technology). All NITs do not have architecture flow, you will have to find the ones that do. To my knowledge there are 2 IITs that have architecture departments, but they are unlikely to hire someone without a PhD, let alone masters (you haven't mentioned if you have earned your masters).

Private sector: You have many private architecture studios and real estate firms to apply to. Most big name companies recruit continuously, meaning they will review / accept candidates throughout the year and call for an interview when they need more manpower. Of course the case is different with the smaller (but equally famous) firms / studios where it is primarily a solo show, where the owner architect is extremely well known. There you will need to have a solid portfolio to make an application to get started.

International NGOs:

Organizations such as UN-Habitat / UNESCO / World Bank / Asian Development Bank (ADB), etc., present positions for architects located all over the world. These are undoubtedly the hardest to land, but there is nothing wrong with trying. These jobs would provide an exposure like no other, to say the least!

I hope this helps.

Good luck!

Edit: I heard that more NITs now have architecture programs. Check their websites for details on hiring requirements.
