What is the most dangerous job you have (or currently have)?

I worked in a haunted house.

I know, that doesn't seem very dangerous, but it really can be, for both the actors and the visitors. The room I worked in was "the gore room" (also known as "the bedroom" as it was a house theme) and there were various human scalp accessories, people nailed to the walls, etc. When people walked in, a tripwire laser would make a skinned corpse on the bed start to shake. Once they passed the bed, there was a "closet" that only consisted of a curtain over an empty space with a pair of sneakers visible underneath. Smart people would open the curtain while

Smart people would open the curtain as they passed. Everyone would watch and try to avoid the curtain, regardless. While they were distracted, it came out of a false wall behind them,

Now, yes, the chainsaw had no blade, but people rarely noticed it. I have two notable stories, one where I got hurt and one where they did.

I once broke out into a wandering couple. When I approached them with the chainsaw, the girl started screaming, the boy yelled "get away from my girlfriend!", He spun on his heel and side kicked me in the throat. Needless to say, I backed off. A few minutes later, my boss came in and told me that the guy was handcuffed outside and that he wanted to press charges. I laughed and said they should let the guy go free.

On another occasion, there were these two middle-aged women who had panicked in the house earlier and ran ahead, separated from their group. He had a vantage point to the previous rooms of the house to be able to see them coming. I should point out that these types of people are the most fun to scare, because you know they are genuinely terrified (before calling me a sadist, remember that's the point of the job).

Anyway, these women walk in and are falling in love with every trick in the room. The bed begins to shake and they squeal. They recoil in horror from the props, open the curtain, and jump back, straight into my false wall. I exploded and they screamed again. Moving slowly toward them, I get between them and the exit, grunting and waving the chainsaw. I backed them into a corner, where they sat, hugging each other and sobbing as I slowly waved the chainsaw over their heads. One of the women began to urinate. It was glorious.

One more note on the layout of this room. Right after the closet and the false wall, there was another curtain as an exit. You got out, turned left, and had to go down a hallway to the next room. When his guide finally caught up with him, he smiled and gestured back at me. It took about 30 seconds to convince the women to get up from the floor, but when they got up they didn't return to their group, they ran out of the room at full speed. The first ran out, turned left, and continued on his way. The second, in total blind panic, stepped through the curtain directly to the corridor wall.

My boss patted me on the back later, laughing the whole time. He had broken his arm running out the door.

Dangerous is likely to cause damage or injury. Anything with moving parts ... would qualify. At the time, I was delivering bundles of newspapers in the back of the truck, when you turned 18, you were too old for that job. Few accidents that way.

When using a chainsaw, everyone made fun of my little chainsaw ... I measured it by turning directly towards me ... with my arm locked ... if it couldn't reach me, it was the right size. I was on trail behind 40 climbing logs ... two others were cutting down trees on the other side ... I was running completely ... I heard a creak ... the huge shadow on the ground started to move ... I turned my head

I heard a creak ... the huge shadow on the ground started to move ... I came back the head, those two were next to me falling a huge tree ... my saw shook and recoiled, I saw that throttle chained in front of my face ... it happens like this ... without warning. I stopped working for the day ... a sad reminder that I'm not invincible ... having those two working and unknowingly ... I wasn't taking any chances. No respect for the work you do can be a murderer or maim you for life.
