What is the best field to enter the IT industry with a high salary and less experience?

So let's think about this for a moment.

There are many (many) people with a CompSci degree and relatively little experience. If I'm hiring, I don't have to pay a lot to hire someone from that group.

There are relatively few people who have (say) a PhD. in machine learning. Because it takes 6-8 years to get to this level of experience, I can't wait for a bunch of people to realize that the field is all the rage and hurry up. If you want a high paying job, do something that is difficult and valuable: difficult enough that many other people won't be able to learn it in 6-12 months, and valuable enough that someone is willing to pay for it.

What's hot right now may not be hot for the next 6 months, so you'll be back in a low-paying job. So if you like web programming, do good. Put up a great page, learn how you can use it to create a great Android app, a good company will hire you. For example, c developers, c ++ are still one of the highest paid (good).
