I think if you choose a company that allows you to travel frequently and you are single, then choose that company.

It's not so much about where I work as it is about my priorities. Most of the people I work for have a better house and a more expensive car than I do. My house is fine and my car is decent and reliable, but not that expensive.

Other than 2020, I generally spend between $ 12,000 and $ 20,000 a year on vacations. I take 2 two week vacations, usually a cruise with a little extra time at the embarkation port and a shore vacation. People at work ask me how I can afford it and I tell them I drive a Camry, they drive a BMW / Mercedes / Acura that easily costs more than double my Camry. My house is paid, but my mortgage was paid.

My house is paid off, but my mortgage was relatively low when I had one.

I only put vacations on credit cards to earn points and generally pay them every month. I also reserve between $ 500 and $ 1000 each paycheck in an interest-bearing travel account. I am retiring soon and hope to take a month-long vacation in the future.
