That said, there are certain times when we can predict that we won't get the offer. That's when they don't ask you questions like 'Are you willing to work anywhere, in any city?' or if they don't ask you HR questions, or they ask you to leave after 2 or 3 simple questions at the start. In situations like these, we fix firmly in our minds that the outcome will be negative. However, we cannot be totally sure of the outcome until it arrives.

1- Sometimes the interviews last up to 2 or 3 days or maybe more, there may be the possibility that they are looking for the right candidate.

2-There may be a scenario where the process manager / project manager has not given their approval.

Therefore, it is quite possible to have a failed interview with one of the interviewers and still be hired. Also, if more than one department is interviewing you for multiple roles, you can possibly fail in one role, but get an offer for the other role. And, just to extend it further, sometimes a candidate will completely fail in the position they are interviewing for, but will then be recommended for a different position that is a better fit.

So even if you get an indicator that the interview is not going well, all is not lost. There are other interviewers, other roles, and other employers. Your job is to find the position that will be the best fit for both you and the employer. Interviewers are trying to do the same, so do your best to help with that two-way evaluation.

They basically gave me information about the company, its compensation plan, etc. They basically know that I am worthy of the position and the tables are turned. I have the power in those situations. But I respectfully say yes and I am not acting arrogant or rude. Do you know what they are saying to all the other candidates?

Exactly the same statement you just made. "Let me talk to the other candidates and I'll get back to you."

So to answer your question, yes, that's a good way of saying you didn't get the job. It will be very rare for you to be called back in such situations.

A job interview is basically a sale. You are selling yourself. Imagine that you are trying to sell someone something, if they psychologically buy whatever it is that you are trying to sell, it would be a closing of a call. It's not a "I'll let you know later."
