What are the most powerful government jobs after the 12th?

There are no senior jobs after the 12th. Earn a graduate degree according to your field of interest and you will be eligible for all kinds of respectable jobs.

A few years ago, when I started my freelance career, my income for the first few months was almost nil.

On the other hand, my friends were already employed and were earning INR 20–30k per month, while the former were earning around INR 60K-80K per month.

After a month or two, I started making the same amount of money my friends were making.

Today I am at a point where some days I make in one day what my employee friends earn in a month.

Slowly and steadily, my income continued to grow, because my income was not limited by someone, but my income depended on the amount of work I did.

This is the beauty of being a freelancer or starting a business.

However, I would like to point out that it is not as easy as it sounds.

Starting a business / self-employment is extremely challenging and stressful.

However, if you put in the effort and do the right thing, it can be extremely rewarding.

If you want a stable, stress-free lifestyle, business is not for you.

Why most people choose a job over a business:

The initial phase of being hired in a company feels pretty good, you complete your graduation, there is already a company waiting for you to pay you a salary.

It feels good to start earning money right after college.

Shortly after completing my graduation, most of my friends were enjoying vacations, traveling because they had already been placed, and were awaiting their entry date.

While, on the other hand, I was running around town in scorching heat to find clients.

They had the guarantee that they would be paid for the work they do.

On the other hand, I had no idea if I could make money this month.

To sum it up in one line: "It was very hard."

Stress and other aspects of life:

Even though I earn a lot more money than my classmates, I can't say that his life sucks.

In fact, many of my friends who work as employees have a much happier and stress-free life than I do.

They can relax when they get home, they can afford to have sex, they don't have to worry about work when they go to sleep.

But that does not imply that I have a boring and boring life, it is just that I enjoy doing things that they would not do.

I love working more than 14 hours a day, instead of relaxing.

I love reading a lot of books instead of watching a TV series.

I love giving up love / relationships for the sake of achieving my long-term goals.

I love being awake, planning things instead of sleeping another hour.

Over time, I started to enjoy these things and now they have become part of my lifestyle.

Is money everything?

No, it's not.

Although I earn decent money, that does not mean that I do it solely for the purpose of making money.

I would do all of the things mentioned above, even if I didn't get paid for it.

I would do it for free just because I like it.

Money is just a by-product / measure of your performance that indicates how well you are doing.

My final verdict:

Which is better: a job or a business?

It all depends on what kind of lifestyle you would like.

If you like being a workaholic and you wouldn't mind working longer hours and making sacrifices, then do business.

If you want a balanced and happy life and you are not worried about money, then look for a job.

A. Let's say you start very young, between 21 and 24 years old:

  1. Even if you start with lower pay scales, it will still approach 40K. A 3% increase in base salary, DA raises twice a year, and a salary review every 10 years.
  2. By the time you hit 30, that will become more than 80,000 a month. In the meantime, you will enjoy life, which is meant for that exact purpose. You will enjoy the same life that you had in college, in school.
  3. The government pays for your medical expenses, including your children's education, and of course job security is a given.
  4. You will do a service to your country, you will earn money and you will enjoy your life.

  4. You will do a service to your country, earn money, and enjoy your time in the process.
  5. You are not going to make up these years. Are you sure you want to change it to enrich the multinationals? No amount of money returns the time spent.

B. Let's say you are a little late to the party, between 26 and 30:

  1. Most of you will want to start a family now. And that will bring responsibilities. I think you can do the math here.
  2. The government needs young blood to create an environment comparable to that of the private sector. Looking at the current scenario, the government pushes the Public-Private Partnership, most likely this is the last generation to experience government jobs in the way we know today. I believe that you can be the bridge between the two worlds and witness how it is built first hand.
  3. It's easier to get government job loans, you can build your dream home, buy the car you liked in your college days, and you won't have to worry about missing payments. Personally, I am not a fan of loans. But hey, it's your life.

C. Some important facts and tips:

  • Not all government jobs are the same. Some have views like these:
  • And offices like this: this is my office by the way;)
  • Do not include yourself in the rat race of SSC, IBPS and RRB. Look carefully on the Internet for jobs that have a unique value. Strive for them. You will earn a little less money but a lot of happiness.
  • Not many public servants look for a higher paying job once they are selected. Use this to your advantage, instill a habit to slowly improve your skills, and visualize yourself landing a multitude of jobs in no time.

Disclaimer for internet trolls: these are purely my ideas and in no way am I against any other type of work. Please behave yourself in the comment section!

Thank you for your time and I will be happy to answer any questions.

Edit1: Wow! 100K views and more than 800 votes in favor. That too in a few days. I did not expect. Thank you all. I am humiliated. I have noticed that some people disagree with my perspective. It's okay as long as you maintain decorum.

Edit2: My answer was removed by quora moderation. I appealed and they returned the answer. Perhaps the reason was that I did not include the credits of the images. I have done it now.

Edit3: Thanks for 1.5K upvotes. Many people criticize the salary and benefits of a government job. Don't worry, just wait for the next pay commission recommendation in 2025.

In GD, most of the people outside the PCM branch are incorporated and can perform well on the ground. The basic thing they do is travel and live close to borders and collect information locally. These days, people from the Army, SFF (special border force), BSF and many armed forces come for the delegation in the department.

Tele (where my father works) is made up of people from technical fields with required engineering studies or bachelor's or master's level. These people work with advanced level equipment to track and intercept calls, emails, and many other modes of communication. This is basically office work, but they can also transfer it to border areas, but the work will be desk work, even in the field.

To get into RAW, there isn't such a formal advertisement in the newspapers and stuff.

There are mainly 2 input modes.

  1. UPSC: Individuals who scored low on the exam were called by the department for an interview and, if selected, start directly from the assistant commissioner or deputy commissioner (top rank)
  2. SSC level exam: the department calls people who take the exam for admission to CBI or IB for an interview. Once selected, the person will start from AFO or DFO (Assistant Field Officer and Deputy Field Officer)

(lower range compared to people onboarding through UPSC)

You have to know that the selection procedure is rigorous and they do many checks that you would not even imagine. For ex. Check the naked body and they will see every part of your body thoroughly.

There are other things to screen candidates, such as a background test, a drug test, a psychological test, etc.

The best part of the selection procedure is that you will not even know that you are being interviewed to enter RAW and you will only be told about this at the end when you are selected.

RAW is just a fictitious name and is officially called by another name that I cannot disclose here in a public forum.

If you are proficient in any foreign language then that is great, but languages like French and German are of no use because they are not used much here. Pashto, Mandrin and Russian are the most required, even my dad knew Russian when he was admitted.

There are also other departments in RAW like

  1. Foreign language department
  2. Crypto department
  3. Cyber department (comes under TV)
  4. Armed combat team
  5. Electronics department
  6. legal department
  7. International affairs department

If you want to get an idea of how RAW works, check out "Madras Cafe" which shows how an organization like RAW works.

Don't go into R&AW if you want to be like Bond or Salman Khan. It is like any other government job that is boring and monotonous with no emotion and very slow promotions. Also, do not let your too patriotism control your mind because everything looks great when you are outside, but the moment you enter said organization and know that they are dark secrets, operation, treatment of employees and no respect for hard work. , that moment is his patriotism. it will break into pieces and then you will realize that everyone in the world is here to do their job.

Join R&AW if you think you want a secure government job with no job pressure and a simple middle-class life.

You can definitely get a government job, not only a government job, but also a top-class respectable government job, it depends on your desire.

Basically, I want to clarify some important factor that is essential to understand to achieve what you want:

There are two factors in each and every successful personality in your life.

1 desire to achieve

2.Natural / inherent ability, we can call it God-gifted intelligence

The first is totally independent of the second, you need to know or I will say that you must accept with all your heart that the role of the first is to play an important role in the success of any person, since it is desire.

There are two factors in each and every successful personality in your life.

1 desire to achieve

2.Natural / inherent ability, we can call it God-gifted intelligence

First thing is totally independent to second one , u need to know or i will say need to accept heartly that the role of first one is playing a major role in anyone’s success as it is the desire to work hard , keeping yourself focused ,consistent and and motivated . Desire to achieve is not dependent on such things like god gifted u need to understand that anyone who has been failed in life anytime for any goal has high chances that he lacks somewhere the desire to achieve .Even the persons which have natural talent always needs to have strong desire to get big in life. In your case there is no role that you have no natural talent thats why you have bad score in 12 th. I am sure that u didn’t paid proper attention on your target only this is the reason .U need to realise this and try to accept this .Be honest when you ask yourself and decide whether i will not repeat this again , if u are ready to say that yes i will notdo this mistake ,on that day itself you comes in the category of persons who have very high chances to get success whatever it is.

That depends on the job you get & your aspirations.if u want to be a doctor or an advocate, u should not. But the other option is to join the job & continue with pursue higher education.

Almost all courses are available partime, except few. You can pursue your education. After sometime with better educational qualifications, your present organisation may offer you higher position.

Otherwise, u can always look for a better job with your newly acquired qualifications. There you will stand an advantage when compared to others. Your earlier job experience may make you a better choice.
