What are the good ways to search for OPT jobs online?

Finding a job in today's economy and in the midst of the pandemic has become really difficult and if you get through it with being an international student in the US, then it's another level of struggle altogether. Finding a job at OPT is one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. Let me give you a little background on how my job search started:

Finding a job in today's economy and in the midst of the pandemic has become really difficult and if you get through it with being an international student in the US, then it's another level of struggle altogether. Finding a job at OPT is one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. Let me give you a little background on how my job search started:

My job search history

I was preparing my first resume to begin my job search. I took some references from my old one and gathered all my achievements into an updated one. Then I uploaded it to job portals and LinkedIn. At the time, I was very excited and expected a lot of callbacks.

Nothing happened, except that I only got one or two calls asking me about my experience and knowledge. I didn't even get a single interview.

Then I asked a couple of friends to give me their resumes for reference. I made a few changes based on how they presented their information and started to post my resume once more with enthusiasm. I even emailed it to a few companies this time. The same thing happened again. I got a couple of calls, explained my course details and history, and everyone hung up the phone saying we'll get back to you.

Then I did what anyone with an internet connection would do: take the help of Google. Again I made a viable resume based on my online research and it honestly looked like the best document I had ever created! And again, it didn't lead to any concrete results.

And the cycle continued:

  • Editing resume
  • Excitedly waiting for an interview call
  • Disappointment

Then I got in touch with some of my friends in college who were looking for internships / jobs and I thought maybe they could help me. And guess what? They were also going through the same problems. It was then that I realized the importance of a consultancy and a bootcamp in the life of an OPT candidate. I know it sounds like a clichƩ answer, but that's the only thing that helped me, so do all the resumes you want, google all the tips, attend all kinds of networking events, but the kind of support you get from A consultancy can never be crowned by any of these methods. What they can do is be a valuable part of the journey.

Why are consultancies good for the OPT job search?

Now all agencies will not be good, some will just charge you a lot of money and waste your time, some will get you mediocre jobs with an average salary, but some will really put your career on the pedestal and find you a good paying job. SynergisticIT is well suited to the last parameter. One thing I learned during my job search at OPT was that a resume alone will get you nowhere because companies need a highly qualified candidate who can handle work under pressure, has zeal to work hard, is presentable, has better communication skills and be competent. in the field they are requesting. To help you with all these aspects, a training camp or a consultancy is the best option. Here are some reasons why?

  • They fill out your resume with relevant keywords that help recruiting software and managers select you. In short, they make your resume easier to find and more attractive.
  • They teach you skills in demand and even offer a short-term course to help you become more proficient. Even if you try to study on your own online, you can't reach that level
  • They make you more presentable and professionally groom you so you can appear confident in job interviews. They will give you better options for interviews and also give you inside advice
  • They help to better negotiate the salary part because they have knowledge of the industry. When you apply without any professional support, you have no influence on the job
  • They even help you build a portfolio so you can better showcase your skills to large IT companies and be more attractive to hiring managers.

As an entry-level student who also has a deadline to apply for EAD, find OPT work, and then manage total days of unemployment, the situation gets really stressful sometimes and not everyone can handle it alone, so have someone Trusting your side (except friends or mentors) can really increase your chances of success. Plus, with ongoing college and assignments, you still have less time to focus on your job search.

Why is SynergisticIT good?

I signed up with them after doing my due diligence. I read a lot of reviews online on various platforms; I got in touch with some current graduate candidates and even messaged a student on LinkedIn. Most of the time I received good feedback and one thing that made me make a stronger decision was that their work support was unmatched. With a job success rate of over 90%, you can expect long-term projects at large IT companies to land you. What other thing? They help you improve your skills and train you extensively until you are fully prepared. You even get tech support at work so you don't get left hanging like other agencies do. So if you ask me, I am happy with your support and I am currently organizing my H1b visa with your help only.

I know you all must be having a hard time finding a job due to this COVID-19 crisis. Many of you must have lost your job due to staff cuts and any other reason.

Looking for work online is a good way, but not only in this, you must also work offline. And be prepared to give your head a good workout from being used a lot because trust me, online job hunting takes a lot of dedication and focus because it's so easy to get distracted or redirected to get off topic.

Looking for work online is a good way, but not only in this, you must also work offline. And be prepared to give your head a good workout from being used a lot because trust me, online job hunting takes a lot of dedication and focus because it's so easy to get distracted or redirected to get off topic.

These are the four main difficulties you may face:

Difficulty 1

Employer wants to hire you, but tells you they can't hire you before you get a visa ...

Difficulty 2

Find the job of your dreams. The employer tells you that they cannot or do not offer any sponsorship for that job ...

Difficulty 3

You can't connect with employers! You can't even get an answer from them.

Difficulty 4

Last but not least, you have a lot of interviews, but even if you do not disclose your visa application, you still cannot receive a response from your interviewer.

In any of the four cases above, you will get nowhere! In fact, 90% of failures to get a job in the United States as a foreigner stem from a mistake. And if you ran into the difficulties above, you may be making this mistake: requesting without targeting.

Before you even think about creating your American resume and applying for jobs opening in the US, you need to target the open jobs and companies that are right for you.

But targeting jobs in your field is not enough! You should understand that up to 5% of companies in the US can sponsor you to get a work visa. It can be even less, depending on your situation, profile, as well as the job opportunities you can get with him.

So let's dive into what you want first and then what you'll get based on your situation, profile, and expectations. This is the basis of your American project.

Based on this, you will be able to build your application, target the right companies, and address them effectively.

If you are confused about your moves, consult any placement company for best results.

Keep looking for the right platform! šŸ‘€

Let me explain this answer to you in detail, it might help those, international students at OPT, who are having a hard time finding a job.

Three universal rules for finding a job! (What I learned when I finished my studies in my home country!)

  1. The candidate must have a resume that includes experience and internships!
  2. The candidate must apply for jobs on all possible job portals.
  3. The candidate must be available for communication and interview to obtain jobs in companies.

Without these three important steps, no one can get a job in any country!

Now getting down to business, trouble! that I faced during my OPT visa.

Problems:

  1. Receive calls from the recruiter for senior positions
  2. The recruiter and clients are not aware of OPT.
  3. Receive calls from the company that does not sponsor the visa
  4. Selected for an interview and after giving three interviews they got feedback that they selected someone else or did an internal recruitment or that they are not aware of the OPT visa, not the terms and conditions that they did not even hear about the OPT visa.

I know that all OPT candidates are faced with these kinds of issues and are given a tense 90-day period of time. This is the second parallel story of the US job market for OPT students.

In my home country (India), there is a famous movie dialogue that is

Translation- With so much effort I have tried to catch you ... all my needs have conspired to find you: - Sarkukh Khan

"Itni shiddat se maine tumhe paane ki koshish ki hai ... ki har zarre ne mujhe tumse milane ki saazish ki hai: -Sarkukh Khan"

How did I find a job?

Like every seasoned candidate he was cooler! I started targeting entry-level jobs or less paying roles that will help me gain experience.

  • I started applying for the jobs, I was giving my half day to apply.
  • I was trying to make a new connection on LinkedIn.
  • Talk to recruiters and present my profile to the client and obtain the right to represent the client.
  • Selected for the interview and given the interview with full dedication.

But back to the same page where I started, no job!

So I started arguing with my friends and doing research on the Internet, one day I got a call from United OPT. I already heard from my teacher during my semester about United OPT. So I started researching about them on the internet and read some reviews online and made up my mind about it.

So, I joined the company that was suggested by my teacher. Trust me guys they are very simple and honest people, they told me they can only line up the interview, but cracking down on the interview is totally on me. I thought that made sense. After that, they marketed my resume to those clients who can sponsor my visa and know the terms and conditions of OPT.

But cracking down on the interview isn't an easy part, either!

They have aligned my interview with a contract position with an extension of more than 12 months and two full-time positions

I was turned down at full-time job interviews and selected for contract positions. I thought they would ask me for the margin or the participation percentage of my salary, but they did not ask me for a penny of my salary. I also offered them $ 600 for my placement, but they just turned that offer down, just asking me to refer others and share experiences with United OPT, and how they work to find their first jobs!

I have given you the website link below, please visit their website if you are actively looking for a job.

Thanks,

Aditya joshi

After making your resume strong enough, you need to take the following steps to land a job for yourself.

  1. Market your resume to your friends and family and let them know that you are looking for work. This helps you big time as it is considered the best free marketing hack needed for better reach.
  2. List the names of the companies that are hiring international candidates. This list should not include the most important companies, as they are the ones with the most competition and therefore the least chance of being hired.
  3. Keep your focus on those companies that are small or just a startup, as they are the ones with the least competition for you and you can work your way to get hired.
  4. Receive the help of several family members, friends who are working in a certain company that is relevant to the field of your study. I did the same thing that I provided all my friends with my resume and thus increased my chances of getting hired.
  5. Get help from professionals to find the best job for your field of study. Professionals like My Resume Jobs, Careerghost, and United OPT are the most trusted to bring you the most designed jobs for you in a minimum of time.

I hope this helps you find a suitable OPT job in the field relevant to your study.

I think this is the hardest part of finding elective jobs based on background. We also find it difficult to find optional jobs. International students in the United States are eligible for 90 days of OPT unemployment compensation. We must look for a job at this time of unemployment, pass all rounds of interviews, and get an offer letter. While this may seem like an easy task, believe me when I tell you that 90 days is insufficient to complete this lengthy operation.

While this may seem like an easy task, believe me when I tell you that 90 days is insufficient to complete this lengthy operation.

Let me share my personal experience with you

Basically, I am an Indian girl who belongs to Gujarat. After completing my BE, I started preparing ILTS and GRE. Luckily, I got a good score and got admission for my master's degree.

When I came to the United States from India, I saw a drastic change in the climate, the culture, the styles, the place of lifeā€¦ Everything. I lost in the beauty of America. It seems that Janata everything is so beautiful. But a little nervous and many things come to my mind like how can I connect with other people, college classmates, how can I adopt a different culture ?. But hopefully I connect well.

I was just going with the flow here, completely oblivious to how fast time was passing and my graduation year was approaching.

I passed all my graduation exams and got a decent grade point average.

Finding a job at OPT is one of the most difficult tasks I have ever faced. And now, finding a job in today's economy and in the midst of the epidemic has become extremely difficult, and adding being an international student in the United States to the mix adds a whole new degree of difficulty.

I was putting together my first resume in preparation for my job search. I updated my resume by pulling a few references from my old one and compiling a list of all my accomplishments. After that, I posted it on job boards and LinkedIn. I was extremely excited at the time and expected a lot of callbacks.

Nothing happened except that I received a few phone calls asking about my experience and skills. They didn't even offer me an interview.

Then I requested resumes from some of my acquaintances as references. I made some adjustments depending on how they presented their data and enthusiastically resumed posting my CV. This time, I also emailed it to some companies. The same thing happened once more.

I then contacted several of my fellow undergraduates who were looking for internships or employment, thinking they could help me. What's more, guess what? They had the same problems as us.

As a result, I joined the firm (UnitedOPT) recommended by my Senior. Guys, believe me when I tell you that they are extremely straightforward and honest people. They informed me that they can simply schedule the interview, but that it is totally up to me to break down the session. That seemed reasonable to me. They then shared my resume with clients who could sponsor my visa and were familiar with the requirements and circumstances of the OPT program.

In two days, I start getting phone calls from companies looking for interviews. My interview took place both online and offline.

And then I get the best job package in my industry, which makes me happy.

I am going to provide some tips to foreign students to help them avoid making mistakes.

  • You will only have 90 days to look for work, so make the most of it.
  • It is recommended that you start looking for work at least three months before graduating.
  • International students must complete a work-study program related to their field of study.
  • Working as an intern in your field of study can help you gain valuable experience for your resume.
  • Strive to make connections with successful people who can help you get a job.
  • If you are not sure that you will be able to find work on your own, you can call any recruiting company, as I did when looking for work.

  4. If you are not getting a job, you can also apply for volunteer work as it counts towards your 90 days of unemployment during an OPT period.
  5. Start your job application before the end of your 90-day OPT period. And also before 60 days after the graduation date.

OPT jobs ... not a new term, we all knew it before we came here, as our visa consultants inform us about all the positive side of the country. But, with all due respect, we all agree on a point that we are not treated the way citizens are treated here. There is no hatred, but it is a fee at some points because we are the visitors here or we say temporary residents, we will study and return to our country and we will be supporting our national economy and thus the government gives advantages to citizens.

So the few tricks that I have discovered because I am also looking for a job, I have done some vignettes that my supposed seniors and some friends who have already placed you have suggested.

Actually, getting hired at OPT is not too difficult, but getting hired by good employers who may even sponsor your H1B visa, where competition becomes tough for poor international students.

The most important thing is to focus on what you want without being distracted or misled. So, in my experience, if there is a single doubt in your mind, clarify before it gets you into trouble.

Here are the few things to do when you get confused (trust it works, because I have tried it many times and happy to announce each time it works)

math REACHING / math

There are many employers who want to hire F1 candidates but do not want to buy job posting spaces so what you can do is make a list of the companies you want to locate yourself with, keep an eye on your job requirements, there are thousands of companies where you can reach out directly to employers.

math ZOOMING / math

If you want to save your money by not buying any job board services, you can try all of this for FREE and of course you will learn a lot about the world of placement.

So, as you have made the list of companies you want to follow now, you need to put your so prepared resume at work, so that just Google's professional resume for whatever job title and job title you want to apply for, you may have an idea about ( be careful, your resume is the key to the job so don't worry if you need to put in a few more hours to customize it)

Hope this works for you, don't forget to hit the upvote button and mention your doubts in the comment section.

Being a former international study partner, I know that there are certain universal ways to find an OPT job online with minimal time.

  1. Use your network to find a job for yourself.

Let everyone in your network know that you are willing to work to gain any kind of experience that may be of use to you in the long run. This type of networking can be very beneficial to you, as once I got a job, I told my newsboy that I was actively looking for work. I can tell you what happened when he delivered papers to so many houses in our neighborhood that he told the hiring manager that he was actively recruiting candidates at the time, contacted me, and got the job there, simply by networking.

2. Try to get to know a company.

Take note that anyone in your existing network is working in a company that is right for you. You can reach out to them and ask them about any existing hiring process that is taking place in the company. You can explain why you want to work with the company and why it is in your best interest to work there.

3. Start applying directly to businesses.

When you are actively looking for a job, you should spend most of your time on the career page of various companies and start applying even if they are not hiring at the moment. By doing this, you increase your chances of getting hired very quickly.

4. Search for jobs through online portals.

You can get help from various online job portals, such as My Resume Jobs, Careerghost, United OPT, Indeed, LinkedIn, and Monster. This will help you greatly to grow your network without limits.

Thanks for reading this answer, I hope you find a job very soon.

The first thought that comes up when listening to OPT is INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS in the United States of America. For most Indians, it is almost every second person's dream to study abroad and earn something in dollars ...

In my case, it was not me who wanted to be an international student, it was my parents, the old Indian thoughts that we can also relate to the generation gap. According to them, like most of all relatives of mine they have their son or themselves abroad their tradition for them which I suggest is a trend and nothing more.

So after consulting millions (numbers don't matter) of consultants (none other than my relatives from NRI), I have convinced (manipulated / brainwashed). I finished with my luggage and final goodbyes for at least 3 years to all my friends and of course my dear parents as well.

And finally, I was here, where I didn't belong, (actually I was deported here). So after adjusting to the temperature and environment, I started my college with all the fresh moods and thoughts to be my best demeanor, but the real me was still missing. And since I had no other choice, I embraced my environment and focused on what I had and what I have to do now.

After completing my freshman year, I started to feel like I was enjoying the atmosphere, the struggle that all international students have started from finding rooms to finding employment.

And now here I wasā€¦. a woman well prepared and graduated to enter the job market and challenge my knowledge and ethics.

And as usual, nothing was easy as I started at the bottom. I faced the worst situation of being unemployed for almost a month and pressure from my parents who express as burden and concernā€¦.

I was in a quandary about so many consultancies. Then one day I got a call from UNITED OPT, a household name among international students. I listened and read everything they described themselves and their work process.

After being convinced by them I made my payment and they started my marketing and I was left with so many interviews on the phone that I have to ask UNITED OPT with whom I should go or not. And after doing a few rounds with various interviews, I got a position with a job profile and a desired salary.

I will suggest to all my fellow job hunters or international students to remain patient but learn to seize the opportunity the universe gives us because we never know what will come after whereā€¦ .. How I got there by coming to the US and applying works with UNITED OPT.

So here is a checklist that I have created and am working on it to reach my goals.

  1. RESEARCH the market

I started researching for the best companies that hire international students. Below is the list of the top ten tech companies I'd love to work with (I know it's not easy to get hired at these companies, but at least I can do my best: ->)

  • Google Corporation.
  • Cognizant Technology
  • Wipro Limited
  • Syntel Consulting Inc.
  • UST Global Inc.
  • People Tech Group Inc.
  • Larsen & Toubro Infotech

2. APPLYING for the position

3. PreparaciĆ³n del curriculum vitae

As we all know the importance CV there is no need to brief about it and hence build it perfectly and if you are gonna send it to the top companies then please get it checked or better prepared by some experts you can download and edit it but still, if you are not sure about it then donā€™t take the chance because its gonna hurt even more if you get rejected just because of a CV. so work on your CV if its needed.

And rest is gonna be a history, if you get selected they are gonna reach you.
