What are other ways to earn extra money besides your full-time job?

Having a second source of income is always amazing. However, you may have little time to fully deal with it. With this in mind, it will be wise to start a business with passive income.

Basically it is an activity that does not depend on your daily routine and will make you earn money with minimal interference from your side. Having a second source of income is always amazing. However, you may have little time to fully deal with it. With this in mind, it will be wise to start a business with passive income.

Basically it is an activity that does not depend on your daily routine and will make you earn money with minimal interference from your side. Usually you will make some decent earnings alongside your regular work. Also, if you find that it can potentially be even more lucrative than your daily occupation, you can start spending more time on it and significantly change your career path. Currently, the most popular fonts of this type are:

  • peer-to-peer loans;
  • automated stock investing;
  • affiliate marketing;
  • creating an application;
  • self-service car wash;
  • invest in crowdfunded real estate;
  • house / room rental on Airbnb;
  • rental of vending machines;
  • dividend shares;
  • annuities;
  • online gambling website;
  • write and sell an e-book;
  • marketing online;
  • invest in stocks that pay dividends;
  • rent your car;
  • generate and sell leads;
  • put ads on your car;
  • record an audiobook and sell it;
  • start dropshipping;
  • eliminating your debts.

Of course, you may not find an address on this list that appeals to you. As they say, one man's trash is another's treasure. You are only limited by your imagination and skills, so you can continue to do your research until you find the best option for you. Another way out is to adapt the existing idea to your preferences and the audience you want to address.

All in all, it is just a question of demand in the area of your operation. Once you figure it out, all that is left for you to do is invest a small amount of time and some resources in a potentially significant source of income. Hopefully, you will eventually find a way to earn money while doing your day job.

There are many ways of doing it. Some require a certain skill, while others can be performed by almost anyone.

Let me give you a short list of the most profitable side activities.

Freelance a skill

Being self-employed is quickly turning into part-time or even full-time work alongside your regular job.

Freelance a skill

Being self-employed is quickly turning into part-time or even full-time work alongside your regular job.

If you have a skill that is in demand, chances are good that you will find a suitable job for your interests.

In essence, almost all skills can be autonomous, but chances are that you will find something related to technical or creative ability. The most demanded skills in the market at this time are:

  • Graphic design
  • UI / UX design
  • Web development
  • Software development
  • Data analysis
  • Digital advertising
  • Content writing
  • Sales agents

All of these skills are very likely to have plenty of opportunities on freelance platforms like Upwork or goLance, or maybe even Fiver.

If you don't have any of these skills, I recommend that you learn them. Usually it doesn't take more than three to four months of consistent study to have an entry-level freelance job at any of them. And they tend to pay quite well, especially in software development. It could earn you up to $ 100,000 a year in certain countries.

Create a blog or vlog

Blogs are also a great way to earn extra income. You don't even need to count it as a job. Just pick a topic that you like to talk about or that you simply have knowledge of.

Find out if people Google those topics often enough and start building a website. You don't really need a web developer to create a website, just grab a Wordpress template.

Start writing frequently searched topics. For example, if you are financially literate, write about investing, loans, personal finance, etc. Very soon your blog will start to gain traffic and you will be able to monetize it with ads from other companies.

The vlog is practically the same, but it is in video format. You can have daily topics to talk about and upload them to YouTube. But it's a bit more difficult there, as the competition is much closer.

But, if you're lucky and one of your videos goes viral, you're well on your way to making quick money from YouTube's ad system. Just be sure to avoid copyrights as much as possible, just put neutral music on your videos, or just put nothing at all.

Open an ecommerce store or do affiliate marketing

An ecommerce store is a bit more difficult to maintain and may take a lot longer during the day. There are numerous details that you need to consider there such as the product itself, then how you buy that product, how you sell it, how you price it, etc.

I would go for affiliate marketing if I were you. You can simply sign up for the Amazon affiliate program, have the links generated for you, and simply put them on your blog.

As long as someone clicks on it and buys something within 24 hours, they will get a percentage of the amount paid by that person.

Invest in a financial market

If you are willing to take a serious risk, but also a great reward, investing in the financial market and trading on a daily basis could also be a good option for you.

You can choose to invest in stocks and control prices to generate income. Although it sounds easy enough, it is actually quite difficult and requires a lot of knowledge and perseverance.

But in the end, this option could turn out to be the best you will ever get as the long-term returns, provided you've done everything correctly, can outperform any freelance career or blogger up to tenfold.

There are plenty of options in addition to the ones I've listed here, so don't be afraid to just venture out into the world and find them yourself. You will be amazed at how many opportunities are waiting for someone to seize them.

Study something you like in your spare time, independently. Seriously, if you don't think this is true, try learning yourself how to do something simple like an oil change on your own. Instead of spending up to 40 on a change, you can buy the right oil and tools, and sooner or later your investment in learning how to do an oil change will be the same and save you money. Money saved is money earned.

The oil change was just one example, but there are other cases where something you teach yourself can save you money. Some are complicated and some are not. Of course, you run the risk of not performing at the same level as a professional, but the risk is entirely up to you.

Other examples:

  • Read a book on investing, which allows you to take your money out of a bank account that earns close to 0% interest, or a slow mutual fund, and take care of your own money.
  • Learn to do your taxes instead of having a professional do it.
  • Cut your own hair.
  • Learning how to cook.
  • Buy basic gym equipment to save on annual gym membership payments.
  • Learn to ride a motorcycle and then get one to save on gas costs.
  • Purchase of energy efficient equipment (heater, light bulbs, etc ...)
  • Practicing being a smart and smart customer.

You can also try a hobby that you are good at for money. For instance:

  • If you like photography, take photos and take them to art exhibitions.
  • If you're a musician, start making music and try to sell it on iTunes (I'm not sure how that works, but I bet someone more knowledgeable can tell you about it).
  • Cook your delicious homemade recipes and see if you can sell them to a retailer (Mom cooks a new recipe for her baby and now it's on supermarket shelves), or at a farmers market.
  • If you know piano, try starting your own music lessons.
  • Become a soccer coach and coach your son's youth team.
  • Just buy a couple of items when you see them priced low and sell them for a higher price later when prices go up.
  • Start writing that book you always thought of starting with the hope of publishing it, or maybe publishing it on your own and selling it that way.

There are many ways to earn money. However, as you can see from the items listed above, they all have two things in common. One needs to have the basic level of education, and two, you need to have the basic level skills, in order to obtain the satisfactory results you are looking for. I mean, sure, you can give yourself an oil change without knowing what the hell you're doing, for example putting in the wrong kind of oil. But without the minimal education you can get from a YouTube video, or a basic skill level remembering how to apply what you saw in the video, you probably won't be happy when you end up on the side of the road, waiting to get a trailer to the area of nearest service with an excessive price.

But the good thing about making money on your own is that you are the beginning, the middle, and the end. You decide what you learn, how you learn it and how you apply it. Sometimes a library is all you need, along with the right mindset.

* Just as a disclaimer, I have not done any of this. These are just ideas.

** You should also realize that whatever you are trying to do on your own, you are in fact doing these things on your own, and I am in no way responsible for any issues or damages that arise as I have already said that it is in your own risk when doing things on your own.

Working online from home (and getting paid to do it) isn't as difficult as it sounds.

There are many jobs that allow you to earn extra money from home.

Don't think you need to start an entire business in order to make money online, because while that's an option, there are also other (and incredibly easy) ways that you can earn extra money from the comfort of your couch.

So whatever the case, I've compiled a list of the best online jobs so you can earn extra money to pay some bills, save a little more, or have some extra cash.

1. TEACH ENGLISH

Teaching English online is a fun way to earn more than $ 22 an hour from home. Most companies do not require a teaching degree. I currently teach English online for a few hours a week and I love it.

Here are two companies that I recommend looking into if you think you would like to teach English:

  • VIPKID
  • MagicEars

2. BECOME A TUTOR

Similar to teaching English, you can also become an online tutor and help people learn about a variety of different topics, all at different levels.

Here are some places where you can tutor online:

  • Cambly
  • College tutors
  • Chegg

3. TRANSCRIBE

If you type quickly, you may be able to take advantage of your typing skills by transcribing audio to text with Rev. Rev pays about $ 0.09 per word.

4. START A BLOG

Blogs can be a great source of income, but in my experience it takes time to build and leverage them. However, if you like to write, starting a profitable blog is a great way to earn passive income through ads or affiliate marketing.

Learn the methods I use to earn up to $ 500 a month in passive income.

5. SELL ITEMS ONLINE

There are tons of online marketplaces where you can sell things that you make and it can be digital or physical items.

  • Etsy
  • Creative market
  • Amazon
  • Open sky

I have an Etsy shop that I started on a whim and I sell digital and downloadable items. The best part about downloadable items is that I make them once and I can sell an infinite number of them without ever having to do them again.

6. BECOME A VIRTUAL ASSISTANT

Virtual Assistants (VA) are always in demand! The tasks to be a virtual assistant can range from:

  • answering emails
  • schedule meetings
  • manage social media accounts
  • edit blog posts

And many other tasks.

If you want to become a virtual assistant, you can set up a profile on a website like UpWork or Freelancer to start marketing your services.

7. AFFILIATE MARKETING

Affiliate marketing is when you get a commission on a product someone has bought from your recommendation.

So for example on my blog I sometimes write about a product that I really like and include my affiliate link for the product. If someone read my recommendation and then bought that product through my link, they would earn a small commission.

8. CONDUCT SURVEYS

Businesses pay a lot of money to understand their consumers, and one way to understand them is through surveys.

Taking surveys online can be a bit more difficult to earn extra money because they are generally specific about the type of people they are looking for.

For example, Victoria's Secret likely wants young women to take their surveys. You will need to fit the demographics of each specific survey to qualify to take it!

Since your chances of winning from surveys are lower, it is best to register with multiple websites to increase your chances of finding a survey that matches you. Here are some websites where you can earn money at home by taking surveys:

  • Drug addict survey
  • Survey Club
  • Swagbucks

9. TEST WEBSITES

User experience is very important when creating a website and companies know it.

If a website is difficult to navigate, your users will click through and never see your sales pitch or buy your product, which is why companies are so committed to creating websites that provide a positive user experience.

And to know if their website is user friendly, they need users to test their website.

User Testing is a company that pays people to visit websites and give their honest opinion.

Hi there. Perhaps this can give you a tangible option in a short time. Or maybe not. Who knows?

My father worked for the state for a few years after college and realized that he would not be "happy" unless he worked for himself. So he quit and started his own business with practically nothing. (Based on my experience in the beginning, when you work on your own, everyone is actually your boss, but I digress.) He struggled, along with my mother, the hardships of anyone who started out on their own. Together they established regulars and stayed afloat (just in the beginning), built the business and became a success. Your business continues to do well, more than 60 years since you watched from your garage.

BUT, he told me when I was diving into the world of work, never expect to get rich from your day job, whether you own your own company or work at any level for someone else. (Never much was paid in salary). You make money investing / speculating in something that may be related to your business, that industry, or maybe a hobby, but something you know about.

The other thing it taught me was that to be successful you only have to be successful 51% of the time. Let me emphasize that again. You only need to be successful A PERCENT MORE OFTEN than you are with companies that fail.

He was correct. Dad was a smart boy. It has worked for me. I learned to see everything as a company, a project. Losses don't and shouldn't hurt unless you overdo it. Losses are good cheap lessons. That 1% more wins than losses is success.

Pretty cool, huh? Pretty simple. It shouldn't take long to get started. Don't even think about borrowing. Be resourceful with every move you make. See if you can turn an additional $ 1 into an additional $ 2. Then $ 2 into $ 3, $ 3 into $ 6, and so on. Start very small. Small test. Be patient but be aware of what is happening. (Don't ignore things).

How do you find out what those investment things might be? Again, that may be easier than you think. Pick an area or industry that you know or are passionate about and like to keep up to date. There is probably a group market fund out there. You can find all kinds of very inexpensive ways to make investments. Or maybe you know a few people in that business who could guide you to an investment opportunity (but that takes TIME, GOOD, AND DUE DILIGENCE ON YOUR PART). Or, possibly, the "investment" could be the time you spend with your hobby, doing something that you give to a friend to try and see if they like it. Then make another and give it to a store owner to see if it sells. But if you don't want to mess with that, give some money to some place that has things that people buy. Speaking of the stock market here. And of course, don't put all your eggs in one basket, meaning a lot of money in a "one-trick pony" company. Look for a general fund in that business area, if it's hot.

Whatever you decide to do: Keep the whole effort simple! If something you watch is too complicated to explain clearly to a friend in 5 minutes or less, you will never be able to sell it or understand it well enough to make quick decisions when necessary.

That is making money on the sidelines. But this is how many people get most of their real income.

You may not think this is your thing. It's fine. I just read it for your reading pleasure. But from my experience, it is definitely the realistic meaning of making money on the sidelines. I know many successful people who have their day jobs, but who built their wealth "on the side." Legally, by the way. :)

Well, having multiple side projects will greatly improve your income.

Low risk ways:

  • Find something that you are passionate about and write a book. You can sell your book on Amazon and slowly gain followers and visibility, which will automatically increase your sales. In my case, my passion was research, back-testing business strategies, and coding. So, I wrote a book about all of that for people looking for the same thing. It feels great to be known as the guy who wrote about something he loves (criticism and polite messages are even better).

  • Find something in demand and create a course on a famous platform like Udemy. You will spend some time filming the courses and making them useful, but you will have another source of income besides the books. This is absolutely passive, as you will not make any more efforts after posting them except to answer messages and questions. In my case, I found that there was not much of a supply of market sentiment courses, so I posted one on Udemy. It is a good passive income that greatly helps you avoid touching your salary.
  • He works as a freelance translator. If you master at least 3 languages, then it is in demand. This is what a friend told me once and it has been wonderful advice. People will pay you to translate things for them. Sure, sometimes it takes time and is boring, but it's worth it.
  • If you like content writing, join a platform like Medium and start making money from what you write. It is gratifying to see that your thoughts benefit other people. In my case, I write about my passion: commerce and research.

High-risk forms:

  • Invest in some passive equity vehicles (ETFs). No one will ever be able to predict the stock market, but you can test it if you have some money to risk.
  • Trade actively. of course, I advise against it unless you know what you are doing. This has the highest earning potential of the suggestions above, but is risky. There were times when in one day I lose double what I earn selling books in a month and others when I earn triple. Therefore, always be careful and respect your risk management practices.

Good luck! Diversify your methods.

Oh, and most importantly, gain visibility by creating content and enhancing your online social profiles. People prefer to look at interesting profiles.

  6. Part-time teacher in coaching classes.
  7. Working in retail on weekends. This is probably easier in foreign countries than in India. My friend, a US banker, did it in his early days, when he was a junior officer in a bank. Many older people do it part-time to supplement their social security income. In India, I'm not sure it's easy. However, there are people who try to supplement their income through Zomato, Swiggy, etc.
  8. Part-time taxi through aggregators such as Über, Ola, Lyft, etc.
  9. Real estate agent. A relative of mine did a lot of research when buying land to build his house. Some friends asked him for help, and it happened that he soon began to earn a lot more through brokerage than he did from his full-time job. Now he's retired from his full-time job, but he still works part-time as a real estate agent and earns much more than his pension.
  10. Some require investment. I know some people who buy properties that are very old and dilapidated. They then carry out renovations and sell it at a profit.
  11. Today, some people even work as rainwater harvesting consultants in their spare time. You just need to read a little and develop contacts with well diggers, plumbers, masons, etc. in order to provide a complete solution.
  12. Interior decorator as long as you can provide carpenters, painters, plumbers, tile masons, POP masons, etc. Instead, you can hire a successful carpenter who can get you references. I know at least five people who do this in Jaipur. One is so successful that she made her husband quit his job to help her full time.

The list could grow into the thousands, but like I said before, it depends a lot on your skills, interests, qualifications, experience, and expectations. In America, many people even work as waiters to supplement their income, but is it possible in India? Would you do it?

I have been promoting affiliate offers for a little over 3 years. However, I do things differently than most.

I heavily promote PPL (pay per lead ... lead generation) offerings. This is because no credit / purchase card is required to complete an offer. All a user has to do is fill out a form, so conversion rates are typically much higher compared to offers that require a sale.

I prefer deals that have a profit to make, get, or save money, as they have generally worked better. They also tend to have the most mass appeal (they will appeal to a large general audience), so there is the potential to produce high volume and they are fairly easy to cross-promote on the back end.

Some of the verticals (niches) in which I have done very well are: education, insurance, loans, debt, credit, mortgage, assistance, discount offers, offers for homeowners, etc.

Most of the PPL offers that I promote pay between $ 20 and $ 40 per lead, but I also promote offers that pay less and less. You don't want to be overly aware of what an offer pays for because how well it converts is just as important. For example, if you have an offer that pays $ 9, but if it converts to double or more than a $ 20 offer, then it will work about the same or possibly better. At the same time, if you have an offer that pays $ 90 and has a poor conversion, it may not even be worth promoting.

I've also done just as well with dating website registrations as well enough with the free trial + S / H deals. I also promote a very limited number of deals that are direct sales. For them, mass appeal is still the number one thing I look for and I also look for one of the following ...

1) The product is brand new and / or novelty and you cannot buy it locally or even something similar. I don't waste my time on it once something similar shows up at Walmart.

2) The buyer can really get what is offered at a decent discount.

3) Solve a burning house type problem.

However, I mostly promote non-PPL deals on the backend.

In short, it is much easier to have someone fill out a short form than it is to have them pull out your credit card and make a purchase. So why fight trying to sell this or that, when you can provide free information that users want / need and get paid well for doing so?

something to think about

Funny you asked that question. I was asking myself the same question several months ago. I have been working as a registered nurse for a while and wanted an additional source of non-nursing related income. So, I started thinking about things and came up with three ideas.

My first idea is to create my blog called Advice that I wish my father gave (all in one word and dot com). If you know anything about psychosocial experts, the king turns out to be this guy, Erik Erickson. Different times in his life occurred to him that he should be in. Funny you asked that question. I was asking myself the same question several months ago. I have been working as a registered nurse for a while and wanted an additional source of non-nursing related income. So, I started thinking about things and came up with three ideas.

My first idea is to create my blog called Advice I Wish My Father Gave (all one word and dot com). If you know anything about psychosocial experts, the king happens to be this guy Erik Erickson. He came up with different times in your life of where you should be. Since I’m in my early 50’s, according to Mr. Erikson, I’m at “Generative versus Stagnation.” Essentially that means you either did well in your life and you want to give back to younger folks (“Generative”) or you failed in life and you’re ready to give up and wait to die (“Stagnation”). While that has to be the poorest way to describe it, I meant to say that so you got the point without beating around the bush or trying to turn this into a nursing lecture.

The second thing I’m doing is a podcast. My lawyer buddy and I are going to sit back and talk about life. It may not go well, but it gives me and my buddy a reason to hang around and banter about life at our age. It’s another off-shoot of Mr. Erikson.

In closing, those are the three things I’m currently working on. I’m still a RN Case Manager and I love my job. But, I need to find a creative outlet and do stuff that doesn’t involve my “day job.” I just need a creative outlet. And if I make money, great. If not, then it’s no different than respond to Quora, except that I get personal satisfaction from trying to help others. See…there’s that Erikson guy again. Lol.

I hope this answers your question and if you want more specific business advice, please visit RGarcia dot Org. Best of luck.

✅ Have a clear goal

Decide exactly what you want. You won't reach a goal if you don't know exactly what it is, so make your main goal clear.

Do you intend to become a trusted expert in your field?

Do you intend to create a list of the faithful?

Decide what you want so that you can come up with a good plan to achieve it.

Do you intend to become a trusted expert in your field?

Do you intend to create a list of the faithful?

Decide what you want so that you can come up with a good plan to achieve it.

✅ Identify your target customer

Un gran error que cometen los especialistas en marketing principiantes es dirigirse a todos, no se puede comercializar para todos. Por lo tanto, perfile a su cliente ideal y cree contenido que se adapte a él.

Market your product and content through channels that they can relate to. These will be where they will feel as though you are directly speaking to them.

✅ Get Your Unique Selling Proposition

What differentiates you from the rest? What makes you stand out?

Don’t say price or quality because everyone says that.

Point out something else that makes you stand out from the crowd. By doing so, you will find it easier to make it in your niche.

✅ Partner With Someone

Partners will vary depending on your goal; you can find a partner that will help you build a list, sell a product, etc. Also, they vary according to your target audience.

Pick a partner who will help you reach your goal at a faster rate, and start building a relationship with them by asking them what you can offer in return. You can offer to come up with articles, emails, blog posts, etc. for them.

The best way is to offer it upfront. An alternative approach would be to approach them with a clear, exciting goal like raising money for a charitable event. Potential JV partners will not ignore a potential opportunity that seems profitable. They will want to be part of something newsworthy.

✅ Make Use of Social Media

Focus on two social networks where most of your audience are and create new profiles exclusive for your venture.

Start reaching out to them. You can offer incentives to people who share your content or run a contest to attract more more people in your audience.

✅ Create Valuable Content

Create interesting content for your website or blog, or videos for your social sites. Make it informative and enjoyable to read.
