I have always been fascinated by the Chesapeake Bay and its surroundings. I did my part in identifying the sources of contamination and calculated that the toxicity of the Pocomoke River was high. After my research indicated that it was toxic, there was a massive fish kill in the Pocomoke River.

After that, precautions were taken and the Chesapeake Bay watershed has been revived, but it remains fragile. All sustainable actions are still needed to maintain the Magnificent Bay system and its surroundings. I was very lucky and had a 6-month internship in a nature reserve, as well as a paid job in a transportation project at this time, and I am due to start my master's degree next month. This waiting time gives you the opportunity to really cement yourself and consider what you want to do and where you want to go in life. All the speakers I spoke with recommended that I take a year, and I am very glad that I followed their advice. Also, if you can, attend a different university, it will give you a significant change of perspective and you will be able to experience that things are carried out differently.
