Is it really worth doing CA?

On July 18, 2017, I had just lost all my nerves. My body did not work perfectly, I was in a different world without realizing what was around me. Trivial things didn't matter to me because I was lost in a different world.

Now, you may be thinking what is the meaning of this collected day. This was the date my fate would be decided, when my months of turmoil could pay off. It was the day of the CA result, May 2017 attempt.

With all those tensions on my mind, I finally opened that website hoping to see a word, "PASS," but fate had something else in store for me. My eyes fell on the word "FAIL" and I froze. I had spent months of sleepless nights, I had studied 18 hours a day, but the Institute felt that maybe I should try harder to put the prefix of those two letters before my name.

Now ask if CA is worth it.

I'd say it is.

You know why?

Because a mechanism like CA not only gives you a title that will earn you your bread in the long run, but also prepares you for every little event in your life.

It makes you strong and aggressive when you get over it.

Let me take the example of the CA Finals. Do you think preparing for those 8 articles that take up most of your book and then preparing for the amendments trial after trial is an easy task? No right?

A test of your patience is needed, although CA students like us are never likely to give up on the course.

Why?

The reason is simple. We tend not to give up on the things that have shaped us for who we are, that have prepared us for toughness, and that have taught us the meaning of perseverance; that has taught us that fruitful things are not easy and that you have to fight to endure that sweet taste.

Yes, even after cursing the Institute every time a CA student fails, I would say that CA is totally worth it; For the day when you are actually labeled with those two letters, all your struggles are worth it.

Lots of love!

Your questions are very subjective, as you are choosing a path to walk for the rest of your life, you will have to decide if something is right for YOU based on your dreams and passions.

With that being said, here is my perspective on the course and some tips for you to consider before deciding to do CA:

A. It is a professional course, that is, it prepares you for a specific job / position, as an auditor or tax advisor, unlike Engineering or Bcom, which gives you a foundation and then allows you to discover what your inclination or passion is and specialize. Consequently. So if you're fresh out of s

So if you just got out of school and want to do CA, I suggest you wait to complete your BCom / BBM or any other degree (no specific degree required) and find out what your inclinations are and then move on to CA if you find Accounting, Interesting tax and audit

B. It is not going to be a 4 to 5 year fixed period course like Engineering, where MOST of the people who enter the course complete it in the same fixed time and finish with it. CA requires a lot of perseverance, it is like a bottleneck where the initial exams are manageable but the last exam: CAFinal is the most difficult with pass rates ranging from 3 to 10% per attempt and you should be aware that you will not get the degree from a AC unless you pass all the exams, so you have to be extremely hard-working and patient, and build a thick skin to face the flaws. Years, some do not even work simply writing tests year after year and attempt after attempt.

C. And lastly, most of the other answers here tell you about the "dollar value" of being a CA, however I would like to point out that until you actually become a CA, you are not going to win like that. You will work 10 hours a day as an item with a 6K stipend for 3 years with little to no social life technically, which is probably the worst part of CA to work in the same position, do the same job over and over again with no growth, If you lack passion for it you will find it tremendously hectic and exhausting and believe me at some point your passion will be put to the test !, so for all the sacrifices you are going to make of course you deserve that kind of Pay once you become CA! (Does that rhyme? Lol)

So is CA worth it?

Yes and No, if you decide to do CA just to earn good money, I only suggest that you become a Makeup Artist because it takes less time to train to be one and it is a fun job for almost the same or even better pay. .

However, if you are a tough person and are willing to take an amazing course (literally) for all the dividends it will pay in terms of respect and knowledge, then it probably will be.

Hello,
I have 15 CA in my family and I can tell you something that can help you.

Now let's check the value of CA based on monetary terms:
one of my uncles is earning 58lakh per year after 30 years of service as CA.
My cousin earns 25 lakh per year in a small town for practice.
My other cousin earns 24 lakh per year in New Delhi on a job in just 9 years (E&Y article and ranks in the final).
And the list goes ........... well

From above, I suppose it will be clear to you that graduation will never lead to such packages, it will be just a bachelor of commerce after all.

Now let's look at the non-cash benefits.
Only with the prefix CA you get a different respect and difference. Value in society, believe me I have experienced it.

You can work as an employee for three, but after that you will hire people for yourself.

Do you know how many CAs there are in INDIA only 2,00,000 and a few thousand? See the relationship between the population of our country and no. of CA's.

So imagine that they are all graduates, but not all are CA's. I assume you are from SRCC or some equivalent university. if you are smart enough to get there, you can also delete CA. and i would suggest one more thing you join big4 than to transfer after 11 months to a medium size company so that you have the name of big4 and the knowledge you will get in all medium size fields.

There is a famous quote that people in California use:
"People ask celebrities for an autograph, but celebrities ask us for our autograph."
In the income statement, but of course.

To conclude ans. I suggest you do it. It will help you in the future in both ways, that is, monetary and non-monetary as well.

All the best friend.

Every CPA or CA student will tell you how wonderful this course is and how this course can bring you whatever you want. But I will tell you about the dark truths that no CA student or Certified Public Accountant will tell you. I totally agree with the fact that CA is a wonderful course and you will learn a lot on the way to becoming a CA, but it is really worth it. It's easy to get into CA (I even got the highest marks in my city at the entry level) but it's hard to get out. It's easy to get into CA (I even got the highest marks in my city at the entry level) but it's hard to get out. At the intermediate level, the student who is good at memorizing the material will pass it with ease. Even if you look at the institute material, you may find fault with it and if you write your answer the way it is written in the books, the institute will give you the grades. Students who want to learn new things are not valued, their material is also outdated. If you write something that does not agree with their material but you are technically correct, chances are they will not give you grades. Now let's get to their evaluation system, CA students are protesting at the institute gates due to their unfair evaluation and students have no right to have their copy re-verified and where bodies like CBSE are providing such rights to their students , ICAI refuses to provide it. What's even worse is that the teachers are using these protests as their Advocacy Campaign (I won't tell you the names of the teachers). If I'm talking about articulation, let's face it, not everyone is lucky enough to have 4 big ones or one big company and small companies treat aspiring CAs as free labor, directors don't pay them much, they make them work 10-12 hours, CAs literally they harass CA students at their company. Now, I will talk about the reputation of the CA, behind every scam, behind every fraud, CA is involved and it is not me who says this, CA student mentor Praveen Sharma Sir accepts this. The average starting salary after tolerating all these things is 4-5 lacs. It is a wonderful field with certain flaws that must be corrected. I hope I have been able to clarify the problems that no one will say and many people will also abuse me for saying this and they could say that I am lying, but you can find proof of everything I said on the internet. Thank you God bless you. The average starting salary after tolerating all these things is 4-5 lacs. It is a wonderful field with certain flaws that must be corrected. Once there were 3 children. They were all born in a village and their father had enough money to educate them only to grade 12.

All the kids were very good at academics and very good at school in the 10th grade.

The oldest among the children decide to take up commerce in the 11th grade, as it was the new subject added to the school's curriculum. Accounting caught his interest and he decided to pursue a career in money production.

The other two children also engaged in commerce.

The oldest scored well in 12th grade and enrolled in Bcom.

The oldest scored well in 12th grade and enrolled in Bcom.

After completing graduation, he realized that he wanted to move to Mumbai and earn money for his father. He wanted to make his father proud.

But he had no money to enroll in any other course.

So what did he do?

Investigated. He spoke with some seniors and got to know the CA curriculum. Minimum registration costs. The minimum costs of the exam. No license plates. Immense respect. Long reach.

He decided to follow it.

After 3 years of hard work, he completed his CA at the age of 23.

The other 2 children followed in the footsteps of the older one. One of them also became a Chartered Accountant and the other a Cost Accountant.

The oldest is now a senior partner in his own firm. He retired 5 years ago as the CFO of a multinational company. He has earned enough money for his family and immense respect in society.

It is an inspiration to many. Including me.

The Public Accounting course saved the lives of the three children and made them competitive professionals in economics.

The CA prefix gave them recognition.

Who knew 3 village kids would do well in a city like Mumbai with no fountains :)

The eldest son is my father.

The other two children are my father's younger brother and sister.

It would be unfair to downgrade the profession simply because most CAs are underemployed or simply because they are too proud to learn more and grow. The important thing is to realize that accounts as a function are redundant work, only to help a company or business comply with the laws of the country and not add value to the business; the type of payment you can expect is simply the minimum that a person can afford.

Finance, on the other hand, is a huge field where you add value by understanding the business, plugging fund leaks, managing funds, and ensuring profitability.

Finance, on the other hand, is a huge field where value is added by understanding the business, plugging fund leaks, managing funds, ensuring profitability at various points in the business, and therefore doing qualitative work. . If you do the former, you will get the 5-7 lakhs per year jobs that you are talking about. However, if you work towards the latter, the sky is the limit.

It is important to assess yourself from the perspective of what you contribute to the future of a company, how good you are at presenting yourself, how good your networking is, whether it is in practice or not.

CA is not a passive profession. a lot of continuing education, networking and marketing is required to be able to earn packages in excess of 12 lakhs a year, even as new. When was the last time you invested in looking presentable and smart? Did you shave and cut your hair before the job interview, spend time on your body language, and negotiate a salary?

How do I say this? I know of several people with 0 to 5 years of post-qualification experience who earn in the range of Rs 12 lakhs per year to Rs 45 lakhs per year.

Are they rank holders? None that I know of. Are they presentable, fluent in the language, kept up-to-date with the latest laws and news, able to promote themselves, and can they network in the right places? 100%.

Hope this explains what you need to work on. Soft skills and the desire to learn are key to building a great future as a CA. There is a shortage of large CAs in the industry and professional firms in India. You have to figure out where you fit in and build your value.

Absolutely ! I, for my part, definitely suggest students in India to take courses like IIT JEE preparation / CA preparation etc. depending on their current of study and interests. No, it is not for learning the course material. Today, you don't need to enroll in a course just to gain knowledge. You have everything available on the internet, which, with the right attitude and initiative, is really not difficult for anyone to understand.

The main reason to study (and seriously enough) for a competitive exam is to develop your intellect, willpower, thinking ability, ambitions, and discipline. You challenge yourself every day. You try your best. He is taught the harsh fact that life is not fair and that everything has a price. Learn to make sacrifices for a long-term passion. You learn to get your ego hit and thus develop humility and learn to respect consistency and work ethic.

After all this barbecue, it really doesn't matter if you succeed or fail. It will build your positivity and the right attitude. After all, you will emerge as a fighter and strategist. And you know what? That will build your life, sooner or later. You will learn to never commit to yourself, to push yourself to the top of your true potential, and to despise being "average." Your learning skills will undergo a paradigm shift. You will learn to be a problem solver and build the "never give up" attitude. Juggling and balancing workouts with college, article, and self-study will really teach you a thing or two about commitment, dealing with distractions, and time management.

There is good reason why so many entrepreneurs, investors, and pioneers in their respective fields turn out to be CA or IIIT. This is the reason. Despite his reluctance, Kumar Mangalam Birlaji took the CA exams at his father's insistence. Mukesh Ambaniji took IIT JEE preparation (and quite seriously) as a teenager. Then there are the Bansal brothers, Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, Vinod Khosla, Raghuram Rajan, etc. I can go on and on.

It is truly a myth that academic excellence has no link to your future success. It is true that you can always turn the page and be that "exception" if you are a person with drive and passion. But statistics don't work based on exceptions. The winners are almost always enthusiastic students. Watch out ... Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg were coding prodigies and "Harvard" dropouts. Elon Musk is a UPenn graduate. Warren Buffett is a graduate of "Columbia Business School". Jeff Bezos went to Princeton. They would not enter these places if they were not learned and passionate people. You really develop a competitive and successful attitude towards every ambition in life. Why not start? young at that, as a student?

Yes, a competitive exam is not the defining factor of the long marathon called life, but what is the harm from diving? You don't die of hard work for sure! All successful people in any area (be it acting, sports, business, etc.) had one thing in common. They had a passion and dedication towards their ambition that almost no one had. SRK works 18 hours a day, for example. Warren Buffett spends most of his waking hours reading even today.

For one thing, I have yet to come across many CAs who care about jobs or count pennies, even in light of the COVID 19 recession!

Are you asking about "MAKING IT WORTH IT"? So, I will give the answer in 2 ways. But I'll tell you one thing: this is a long answer, please support patients.

Way 1: - If a person has a wish since childhood or you have an interest in which you dedicate your time enormously. It may take 10 to 12 hours to study, but it must be endured with concentration and interest. If this type of determination is in you, then CA is for you. If you dedicate your work consistently, even God will not prevent you from achieving success on the basis of the CA COURSE. but in this patient it will play a key role.

Then this CA course will be HELL for you because this course is not a game, it is a course that changes your life. It is the most difficult exam in India. Its success rate is in the single digits. The person who wants to lead a luxurious life without any hard work and interest in the CA course, then my friend please don't choose CA to get the best degree. If you choose it as your career, I am very sure it will ruin your time and money 🤯🤯🤯

CONCLUSION: - On the basis of 2 ways, take your time and make decisions and make sure that before making any decision you first discuss with your parents and friend. All the best 👍💯

If you like it, please rate me🔝 and thanks for reading all the stuff.

Being a chartered accountant is a worthy goal. Every part of it. Every part of it.

Have you ever thought that you are so powerful that the people around you fear you? Overwhelming isn't it ?? .. A certified public accountant lives with that power almost every day. A little respect out of fear and some respect out of respect.

The CA exam is a three-level exam conducted in India by ICAI (Institute of Chartered Accountants of India). The first level is the CA foundation. Covers four basic topics. The second level is the IPCC (Integrated Professional Competence Course). The IPCC has a total of eight subjects that it encompasses, divided into groups of four and four. The final exam, unceremoniously called the CA Final Exam, is where all the blood, sweat and tears come together to give one of the toughest exams in the world. The success rate of this ranges from 8 to 16%.

Chartered accounting is not only a respected and worthy profession, it also guarantees a stable and lucrative career. With the increasing number of statutory compliance and strict tax regulations, public accountants are going to play an important role in the future.

The whole global scenario has changed and CPAs are now considered the complete business solution providers. It is the cheapest professional course with a 100% employment rate.

If you are looking to follow this course, you must not only have an interest in topics such as accounting and finance, but you must also possess an analytical mind. You must be focused and working hard, as the three-level exam set by the ICAI can be very challenging.

I can list very basic pros and cons, maybe they help to prioritize the value based on your own judgment ...

Pros

1 Respect ... you get a different respect whether in family gatherings or with friends (or acquaintances) after the Qualification.

2 Salary package ... obviously there are problems for the first 4/5 months even after becoming CA, but once you have gotten a job in the big 4 or some good organization then you will have a smooth career, but the objective should always be hired in any reputable organization, since obtaining a brand value increases the value and for that you have to practice

You can do this by having some interviews or mock discussions within your group.

Although knowledge is the main important aspect that a CA should possess, but along with that presentation of knowledge it is also very important and communication skills play a vital role in this.

In case you want to practice, you need to keep that clarity in mind early on and start building your customer base even during article tenure. But for practice you need to have extensive knowledge and the first 1/2 years will definitely be full of struggles.

Cons ...

1 Frustration and mental pressure ... the course has a lot of topics that are really broad in their own right so it gets frustrating at times.

I've personally experienced this when you see all your friends from school or college of the same age (even juniors sometimes) getting hired and settled in life and you're still struggling to pass your exams.

Tip: But if you've done proper planning, in 2/3 tries max (let's get practical here) you can qualify.

2 Time and effort… you are definitely going to put in a lot of time and hard work. You may have to skip a lot of family gatherings, parties, etc. On average you have to study 10 to 12 hours a day (sometimes even more).

If you can't, then it's best not to, as failing multiple times will make you question your worth or make you feel monotonous.

I hope these simple points help you in any decision you are going to make in life ... All the best for the future.

Greetings,

CA Disha Agrawal

Considering the pass rate, the effort invested, the time spent and the earning potential, it is really useless, the CA rating has no value in America or Europe or in the gulf countries, they are not recognized and treated only On par with non-engineer graduates, you have limited scope for practice in India (most prefer the service, as the practice is not a lucrative option to obtain the first generation AC pass, you will find that a great amount of CA have joined as assistant managers in Indian banks on a par with only graduates who also after spending 5, 6 years after first graduation) the US economy is a financial engine
