So I worked at a gas station. One night I ended up doing something stupid. I don't want to go into too much detail. I told the new night manager I was working with some details, but not everything, about what I did. Then he says he's going to rat me out. I tried to convince him not to. I did something silly but it didn't cause that much damage. I was so angry and embarrassed to the point where I just walked out in the middle of my shift and quit. I come back the next morning and explain to the store manager. He acted like I was the worst employee for what I did. I could understand why he didn't want me to get my job back since I left in the middle of my shift. I did a lot of good for my shop, but I make a silly mistake and they crucify me. Plus, I worked these two night shifts every week that I didn't ask to be put on. No one else would work them. Later someone showed me this email that our store manager sent to the area manager about what I did. The store manager gave a different version of the story than what I did. Many people have lied about me and talked bad about me, but this email was the worst I had ever seen. Again, I can understand why I shouldn't have my job, but lying about what I did in that email was an unnecessary exaggeration. I practically wanted to destroy my future, all because of a stupid mistake I made. Sometimes when I applied for other jobs, I didn't mention this gas station because I knew he or someone would speak ill of me. They did not tell me directly, but to a client / friend of mine, who was among the many who were really angry that I was fired 6 days before Christmas and less than 4 weeks after a death in my family. When the client asked how they could do this so close to the holidays ...

they stated:

“We actually did Gerry a favor by letting him go now…. So if he and his wife bought Christmas presents for someone, he will have a chance to pay it back, not go further into the hole, financially. "

What Christians of them!

My wife and I (who had just lost her brother 3 weeks earlier) weren't “celebrating” this Christmas - it was a sad time for us - and they did this on December 19 - they knew all this. His timing was spiteful and intended to inflict maximum pain.

Why ? Because the economy was slipping and I was being pushed aside to make room for family members, I protested my poor treatment and the actions they took that drastically reduced my income. A crazy year of accusations, backstabbing, criticism and attacks, from December 2017 to December 2018.
