I don't want to live the 9-5 life. What can I do to live a comfortable life? What should I do to prepare for a comfortable life?

There are so many ways to achieve the lifestyle you want. I thought that living from 9 to 5 was the only way to live too. I majored in computer science in college and I loved it. When I started working, I put a lot of time and effort into my work. I went further and burned pretty fast. I found that I value my time and am more productive when my schedule is not so rigid. During that time I had a mentor and he recommended reading I will teach you to be rich by Ramit Sethi. I followed the advice in the book during my early years out of college. I eliminated all debts, including my student.

During that time I had a mentor and he recommended reading I will teach you to be rich by Ramit Sethi. I followed the advice in the book during my early years out of college. I eliminated all debt, including my student loans, and paid for my car while still saving. My husband and I did not improve our lifestyle because we got raises and new jobs. Last year I was able to take a year off from work and work on some personal projects. Now my husband and I work part time and are traveling as nomads. Hey, have you heard about the top seven jobs trend yet?

If you haven't already, here:

Comfortable life? Easy life? You must be kidding.

Do you think Regina Spektor dreamed of being Page Turner, literally the job of passing roles at a concert, before becoming a renowned songwriter and pianist?

How about Buzz Aldrin as a dishwasher?

No I dont think so.

Sure, some people may be lucky enough to land their first few jobs well enough to earn thousands of dollars.

But not many people have the privilege of magically finding their purpose and landing in a position that offers 'comfortable' jobs and not '9 to 5' right away.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the 9 to 5 life, so don't put your friends down for valuing work because while you're there dreaming of the easiest way out, they will be struggling and surviving until they finally reach their full potential.

So stay open to those '9 to 5' jobs, even doing the dirty work if you have to. Don't undermine their power to polish yourself so that you are the best you can be. Stay open with your options and don't worry about finding your 'true passion' right away, because you never know where it will end.
