How strictly does USCIS interpret the requirement that jobs taken under OPT be related to the field of study?

I think you should speak to your school's DSO for clarification on these issues as they are the best source of information. I certainly will not recommend any work that does not directly relate to your field of study. Some obvious examples say that if you are studying Software Engineering or Computer Science then you can get paid employment as a Computer Programmer or Software Engineer, there is no ambiguity here as field of study correlates with employment. Other examples are students pursuing their MBA course may be employed in entry-level management positions or as junior executives.

International students in the United States are required to get a job within 90 days of graduation. When I finished my basic secondary education, I decided to study abroad and that is why I ask my parents for permission. My parents have a software business in India and I was interested in computers since my childhood, so I wanted to study mainly in computer science, so I opted for web design as my mainstream and I wanted to run my family business and study. Abroad da for me was a very good opportunity, so my parents agreed with me and I headed to Florida State University.

Life here in Florida spins pretty fast and since I was new here, it took me 6-7 weeks to get used to the environment and be friendly with daily activities. My academic studies began shortly after a month after I arrived in Florida. I was super excited to start my life as an international student. It was hard work from the beginning and books were supposed to be my best friend since 5th class. I started my self study as soon as I started settling in here.

My academic studies mainly deal with most computer science subjects and a lot of coding. Coding actually excites me a lot as it involves a lot of brain work so it was awesome. I was enjoying my college and academic days too much and was even getting good grades on my externals and intervals as well.

Soon my graduation exams were close and I started to focus on that. I knew my graduation can play a big role in my location so I took it very seriously and managed to get colorful marks and both myself and my parents were happy with that.

I wanted to gain some real work experience so I convinced my parents to stay here for the other 12 months as with OPT visa status international students can gain some experience for a year.

I began my job search shortly after graduating from Florida State University. It was never easy to find a job for you as this was totally new to me and therefore I was facing a lot of trouble getting answers. I once shared this with my parents and they reached out to some of our relatives who were here in Florida. They came to visit me and explained how to do marketing, publishing and everything. They recommended MY RESUMES JOBS, it is an online job portal that helps international students to locate themselves.

I first tried for myself to get positive responses, but I wasn't doing any good, so I thought I'd let the pros help me here. I signed up for MY RESUMES jobs and it cost around $ 30 for resumes and around $ 40-45 for the entire resume distribution service and marketing purpose.

I paid for the full service including a professional resume, resume summary, and resume marketing services.

In one day I started getting responses and a month after I signed up I got around 5-6 interviews and in a month or a half more I was placed in the best company I wanted to work with.

I would highly recommend MY RESUME JOBS to all international students to be placed here in the USA.

Happy job hunting!
