How should liberals treat Trump voters now that Democrats are in control of the government?

Contrary to what all the answers to your question have focused on, I think the answer to your question and more importantly the solution depends on a completely different scenario.

We have always had a speech between the two main parties, but what is different now? What has caused the discourse to grow into the ever-widening abyss of today?

If you look at what's influencing the current political landscape the most, it's not being driven by politicians. I know that most Democrats would disagree with this statement and point to Trump's decisive policy. But Trump and all the other politicians are not the cause

But Trump and all the other politicians are not the cause but the consequence of the cause. If politicians are good at anything, it would be at reading the mood of the voters. Their actions are based solely on reelection, so they simply reflect the mood of their constituents. And so we go down to the constituent.

But what changed for the common man and woman? What made the normally lucid voter turn to those extremes? I propose that the root of where we are today is caused by social media. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and the like have exacerbated our differences and fueled radical movements in our society.

Don't get me wrong, I use and enjoy all social media, but the promises of freedom that the internet would provide how long ago have been overshadowed by the negatives it has spread. Unless we are in control of what is now a runaway industry, this problem will only get worse.

Dictatorships have tackled this problem by controlling what their people see on the Internet. Because democracy is based on freedom of speech, our solution is much more challenging. However, there is a solution to this problem. And that solution is the repeal of article 230.

Section 230 says that "No provider or user of an interactive computer service will be treated as the publisher or speaker of any information provided by another information content provider" In other words, online intermediaries such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc. ., that The host or republication speech is protected from what those who created the publication say and do. Protected companies include not only typical Internet Service Providers (ISPs), but also a variety of "interactive computer service providers," which basically include any online service that publishes third-party content. Although there are important exceptions for certain criminal and intellectual property claims,

Since the original purpose of the legislation was to restrict freedom of expression on the Internet, most people who valued freedom of speech were initially against repealing section 230. And unsurprisingly, the Internet community as a whole he strongly opposed the repeal of 230, (also known as the Communications Decency Act).

But the provisions against freedom of expression were struck down by the Supreme Court. What remains now is to put the responsibility for what is published not only on the person who publishes, but also on the site that hosts the publication. I think THIS is the only thing that will end the divisions we face.

Of course, all social media companies will fight this to the end because it will destroy their business models. They will argue that it will stifle free speech and that is partially true, but, if we want to survive as a democracy, I think this is the most important step we can take to right our ship!

Until the 6th we could have let go of all the nasty names and lies, let the new management prove themselves and leave them alone with their Q Anonsense.

And the worst part of all this?

The worst part of how a large group of MAGA terrorists invaded the US capital, murdered a police officer, and shit all over the walls?

THEY CAN'T ADMIT HOW HORRIBLE IT REALLY IS

Sure there have been a few who have resigned over this and have completely renounced MAGA extremism, even 10 Republicans in the house voted in favor of the impeachment.

Instead, I read more and more 'Antifa' this and 'BLM' that

THE WINGS ON THE RIGHT STILL SUPPORT AND VALIDATE THIS GARBAGE

Think about it, after 9/11, would you have wanted to see people waving Osama Bin Laden flags and talking about the things America has done to deserve what happened? (Yes, we all know that America is not 100% blameless, not the point, stay on topic.)

Anyone who keeps waving a MAGA or Trump flag is no different than anyone who would have applauded 9/11 after it happened.

And this is how I will treat anyone who still openly supports Trump right now and refuses to accept Biden as our new president.

EDIT:

I don't want to respond to each and every comment, so I just want to say generally that all Trump supporters can go eat a sack of cheeto dicks.

None of you are worth the time to debate or reason, you are all too stupid to realize how stupid you really are.
