How is the working life of the staff and welfare inspector in the railways and what salary and facilities do the Indian railways provide them?

The welfare inspector position is one in which there are no measurable results. Therefore, your work depends entirely on your commitment and desire to make your work count. If you are sincere and develop empathy with employees, you will be successful in your own estimation. But that won't necessarily translate to better CRs, particularly with unsavory personnel officers. I know of a WI that was very popular with employees and unions, but who was denied promotion to APO. On the contrary, there are WI who are more useful to the DRM wife for her social activities and who get the award of the week rly.

The welfare inspector is a good position to work for on the railroad. You can get a decent salary depending on the degree of pay you have.

But work wise, this is one of the good posts, compared to other posts where there is too much exploitation.

Indian Railway has been conducting online exams for direct recruitment since 2014 for RRB JE / SSE which is in Group C with a grade 4200/4600 pay. I joined RRB gorakhpur as a shop engineer. But leave this later sometimes.

Taking the Indian Engineering Services exam will give you the opportunity to join the Railways as an officer. They used to be placed on PayBand III, which has a scale of 15600-39100 and a salary rating of 5400.

Benefits or pros:

  1. You are serving the nation - here you will be responsible for planning, building, maintaining and running one of the most vital man-made resources available in the country.

Benefits or pros:

  1. You are serving the nation - here you will be responsible for planning, building, maintaining and managing one of the most vital man-made resources available in the country that could serve millions of people for many years to come.
  2. Job security: when you see people from the private sector sweating over whether or not they will have their jobs, you will have absolute security.
  3. Pay enough but less than USPs: Since the payment structure is a matter of public domain, there will be no uncertainty as to who earns more and who earns less among colleagues. But the salary is lower in the railways compared to the UPM
  4. Housing facilities: Depending on where you are, you can be sure that you will have a very decent home and rest house at your disposal.
  5. Many Assignments - All allowable assignments for Indian Railway employees are listed below:
  • Compensatory allowance from the city.
  • Daily allowance along with mileage allowance for local trips of more than 8 km.
  • Daily allowance (popularly known as TA).
  • Subsidy for the cost of living.
  • Home rental subsidy (HRA).
  • Travel in transfer and compound transfer grant.
  • Mileage allowed.
  • Assignment for night service.
  • Training grant.
  • Transportation allowance (TPA)
  • Fixed transportation allowance.
  • Transport subsidy for doctors.
  • Uniform allowance.
  • Out of Shift Assignment.
  • Compensation in lieu of vacation.
  • Special compensatory allowances (tribal / programmed areas).
  • Special compensatory allowances (hill area).
  • Bad weather allowance.
  • Remote location allowance (Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Assam, Nagaland, Manipur, Tripura).
  • NPA to railway doctors.
  • Ration money instead of the ration allowance.
  • Laundering allowance.
  • Special grant for railway school teachers.
  • Special childcare allowance for women with disabilities and educational allowance for disabled children of railway employees.
  • Allocation by border area.
  • Constant attendance allowance.
  • Overtime Assignment (OTA).
  • Subsidy for holding the Railroad Board.
  • Constant attendance allowance
  1. Career Growth Opportunities - Whether you're good or very good at what you do, the sky's the limit when it comes to growth and opportunity.
  2. Position in society: The respect and admiration for working for the railways as an engineer will be unmatched.

Cons:

  1. No Fixed Shifts - If you are looking for a job where you will be attending the office from 9 to 5 every day, this is not the field for you. You may even have to get up in the middle of the night and attend to a problem far from your residence. It will also be difficult for you to obtain the desired licenses when working in government services.
  2. Dealing with the bureaucracy and unions - Not always easy when working on railways, sometimes procedures and approvals are painstakingly slow or never completed. In addition, as a Group A official, you will often have to deal with demands from unions and groups that will have to carry out their work on the ground.
  3. Moderate Pay - All said and done, the amount of money you will make will be far less than what your peers in the private sector will earn. Especially as you get older, the pay gap will become more obvious.
  4. Transfers: Transfers are a nightmare to work in the government or defense services. Since India's railway network is huge, the frequency of transfers and locations could be an obstacle to leading a stable life.
  5. Promotions: Railroad promotions will occur in lots where most of the people who joined will be promoted together, which means that excellent and worst performers will be on par. For a person with great ambitions and great faith in his own abilities, the railways are a bad option.
  6. Dissatisfaction: If you are not satisfied with the job or with your boss, you will not be able to move freely from one organization to another like in the private sector. Even if you decide to switch to the private sector, you may find it difficult to adjust after you have become accustomed to the culture of a government entity. Also, all the effort you have made to pass the exams to enter the establishment will not be fruitful.
  1. Free rail travel pass: Depending on the position held by the employee, the employee is entitled to enjoy free travel passes per year. Each travel pass can be used to travel through the Indian rail network on a round trip. The class of the coach and the number of passes the employee can take advantage of depends on the employee's cadre / position. Employees' dependents can also enjoy the Travel Pass. For unofficial staff, free rail passes are issued one set (round trip) per year, for the first five years and from the sixth year of service, three sets are issued. For Gazette

The employee can use the PTO to reserve a ticket by paying a nominal amount of one third (1/3 or 33%) of the base price of the fare. This PTO will be issued by the Pass Section and will be awarded between 2 stations, as requested by the employee.
  3. Railroad Residential Rooms: Indian Railways offers residential rooms to its employees, which will be built and maintained by the Railroad Engineering department at the Railroad facilities. All basic amenities and facilities will be provided in these neighborhoods for a nominal fee.
  4. Subsidized meals in the workplace: Railroad employees have the right to enjoy subsidized meals (breakfast and lunch) in the railroad canteens.
  5. Educational facilities for children: Good educational facilities will be provided for the children of employees near the railway colonies.
  6. Medical care: Employees and their dependents will receive free medical facilities at the railway hospitals. Depending on the severity, patients will also be referred to Corporate Hospitals.
  7. Compassionate Family Jobs: In the event that an employee dies while on duty or is declared medically unfit by the Railroad Hospital medical officer, then a family member can get a job on the Railroad for reasons of compassion. compassion, depending on your educational qualification. .
  8. Study Leave: Employees can take advantage of study leave in case they want to pursue higher education.
  9. Secure employment: there will be no fear of losing your job due to the recession. There is no "hire and fire" policy in the government sector. Once hired, you will be employed until your retirement (60 years).
  10. Pension: After retirement, retired employees are entitled to a pension. This guarantees financial security for a lifetime.

The locomotive brake works with air pressure. Through a reducing valve, this air pressure is reduced to 5 kg and supplied to the BP (Brake Pipe).

The BP is distributed throughout the train and is connected between the wagons by a BP hose. When BP is held at 5 kg of pressure, all brakes are released.

This blood pressure pressure is displayed on the name of a blood pressure gauge in the driver's cab. If the BP pressure drops, the brakes are applied.

(I have written answers on how train brakes work in detail, see my profile).

Now let's get down to business. When someone pulls the chain, it opens a BP pipe port of that particular car. BP pressure drops and brake application begins.

Simultaneously, the pressure gauge BP installed in the cab of the locomotive shows the pressure drop BP. It also activates Loco's ACP system.

The flashing light turns on and a buzzer sounds. All of this happens at the same time. The crazy pilot applies his brake to the maximum. Stopped train.

After resetting the port of that trainer, the pressure of BP increases. Locomotive brake release.

Write down all matters in the ALP controller notebook. Finally, the train guard gives the all-rights signal and Loco Pilot starts his train.

Thanks for reading my answer.

A railway employee mainly obtains three types of leave during service.

RETURN: - Leave the average salary. This is the license you deserve. You have to do a full month and then earn 2.5 LAP. After completing six months of service, add a 15-day LAP to your license account. If you do not take any leave during this period, this total will leave the full 15-day LAP balance in your account.

A railroad employee can accumulate a maximum of 300 days of LAP during his total useful life. At the time of retirement, the railroad will pay for the unused leaves in monetary terms.

LHAP: - leave with half the median salary. This is a medical license. If a railroad employee becomes ill and is not treated by the doctor, he can take advantage of this leave. 10 leave numbers are added to an employee's leave account after six months of service. Its accumulation has no limit.

CL: - Casual license. 10 sheets are added on January 1 of each year. These permits will not carry over to the following year.

These are the three main types of permits available to all Indian Railways employees.

The question is how an employee can take advantage of a leave because there is no vacation on the Indian railways? Yes, the Indian railways never stop. It works day and night. But there is a duty of rotation for employees.

There is a large area in addition to direct train traffic. Workshops, warehouses, offices, various warehouses, etc. they are available to support the operation of the train that you have all seen.

The railroad has to work shifts in some of these areas. When someone is on leave, others have done their duty to theirs.

At the points where the shift service list is kept like SM, Booking, etc., a group of staff is kept apart from the service list as a license reservation. They will work when someone on the list you request leaves.

The crazy pilot who operates the trains 24 × 365 days all day also has his own sheets. A limited number of staff in these categories can take advantage of the licenses at a time, so the running train should not get in the way.

All the workers and brothers of the railroads. And the brothers have a due responsibility to another brother. It is our railroad. We are united to serve our nation.

Indian railways never stop. Proud to be a member of Indian Railways.

You will also receive TA (Transportation Allowance) depending on the station of posting, either Rs 1800+ DA OR Rs 3600+ DA.

HRA and TA of different categories of cities are

A = 24% and Rs 3600+ DA applicable

B = 16% and Rs 1800 + applicable DA

C = 8% and Rs 1800 + applicable DA

Now gross pay in Call A city

  1. Rs 35400+ DA @ 12% (4248) = Rs 39648
  2. TA Rs 3600 + DA @ 12% (432) = Rs 4032
  3. HRA = Rs 8496
  4. The total gross pay is 1 + 2 + 3 = Rs 52,186
  5. You will receive a night service allowance based on your base salary.

It will surely be promoted up to Grade Pay of Rs 5400 in its full lifetime through MACP (Modified Assured Carrier Progression).

You can also become an officer of Indian Railways through a departmental exam after working on GP Rs 4200 for three years. For your clear understanding, I upload a photo of the CPC scale 7.

I have just seen some of the answers and will try to clarify the answer. There are four grades in Ticket Checking that have a different payment structure. The hierarchy is as follows,

1. TE / TTE (Ticket Examiner / Travel Ticket Examiner)
2. Mr.TE / Mr. TTE (Senior Ticket Examiner / Senior Travel Ticket Examiner)
3. TTI (Travel Ticket Inspector)
4. CTI (Chief Ticket Inspector)

Each grade has a different salary,

1. TE / TTE - 5200-20200-1900
2. Mr.TE / Mr TTE-5200-20200-2400
3.TTI-9300-34800-4200

4.CTI-9300-34800-4600

These are the scales under which its base is determined. For example, a guy who just posted as TE will roll a basic of 5200 + 1900 = 7100 plus DA, HRA, and other allowances that might be allowed. Currently, the DA is 113% and the HRA changes from place to place. People who work in A-1 cities would get a 30% HRA, while a guy who works in cities would get a 10% HRA.

Taking everything into account, a TE published in Mumbai CST will charge a minimum salary of 7100 + 8023 (113% DA) +2130 (HRA) - PF (8.25%) - Contributory Pension-Professional Tax-CGIS which roughly translates into 14k

In the Indian railways, the operation of the train movement is divided into smaller sections to facilitate the work.

Usually for 200 ons. A section controller is at the divisional control office

It has a board with switches for all the stations in its section.

At the station, the master of the destination station can speak to the controller at any time on the hotline control telephone?
