How can a Ruby programmer make $ 30,000 a month?

How can a Ruby programmer make $ 30,000 a month?

Ruby is just a tool, like any other programming language. A similar question would be: How can you make $ 30,000 a month using a hammer?

The answer is simple (not easy): build things with the hammer and sell it, take seminars on how to use the hammer, write a book on the hammer and sell it, the list goes on. Now replace the hammer with "ruby" or any other programming language or tool and you should have an answer to your question.

First of all, you need a lot of experience. Much. And to be honest, a base salary of $ 200K for a programmer will not be simple (depending on your region). Yes, in CA or NY it might be possible. And I'm not talking about a ridiculous Salary.com poll showing Google or FB engineers making $ 250K because they have a base of $ 150K + 1-time signing bonus + possible annual performance bonuses + fairly sized stock. decent. $ 50- $ 100k bonus.

That is not an incredible salary. Not bad, but for Silicon Valley or NY? The only thing you can really say about how it affects your standard of living is based on the $ 150K; the rest are pinned down and you may never realize it. So you can't call that $ 250k / year.

Okay, with that said, you can, but you will need to be very good and have a lot, a lot of experience in a very lucrative skill set to earn a base salary of $ 200K as a "programmer" (ie architect, lead developer, developer senior, lead developer, etc.). Most likely, that job also comes with management duties and it still won't really be a strict “programmer only” job.

The easiest way to lavishly tech salaries, such as a $ 200K base in Austin, which is a very good salary and very doable (with many years of experience and if you are good at it), is in technical management. If you want to be a developer or an architect, that's fine, but most likely you are managing other developers to pay that kind of money. If you want a base salary of $ 200 to $ 300K, you will be managing other people, period. Unless it's something super specialized or an extremely valuable programming skill (like the stories you hear where a guy gets paid $ 500K or $ 1MN and actually codes all day, ultra rare).

It is a simple law of supply and demand. Those who are responsible for others, responsible for a business unit, responsible for a product, etc ... are the ones who pay the most. They also take all the risks, anxiety, stress, etc ... It is also much more difficult than you think. If you think it's easy (that's for all the younger guys, and girls?), Wait and see. Your day will come, your opportunity will come. Trust me. If you work hard, you will succeed, but there is no easy way to earn money.

Write me then and tell me how easy it seemed to you;)

Did you know that you can easily earn money online?

That's correct, and all you will need is a computer or phone connected to the Internet.

So, in this article, I'll show you ten places where you can start making some extra money or, if you mean it, some great money!

Isn't it amazing?

You can earn up to $ 100 a day or more on some of these websites, and the best part is that you don't have to quit your day job; you can earn this money in your spare time.

There are two unique ways to earn money online.

The first is active income.

It's like having a regular 9 to 5 job with active income. You are compensated solely for the task you perform. Simply put, if you don't work, you won't make money.

The second method is to passively earn money.

This is my preferred way since, with active income, all you have to do is push yourself once, and the money should keep coming without you having to do anything else except perhaps promote what you've created, or in some circumstances. , what others have created.

Looking for the easiest way to earn money online?

If you've been looking for something but haven't found it, you're probably feeling lost and discouraged.

When I started on the internet, I was in the same boat as you right now, looking for a variety of ways to earn money.

There will be numerous ways to make money online, but it will take some time to choose a technique that you are comfortable with and that is inexpensive.

Joining a cheap home business, in my opinion, is the easiest way to start making money online.

Affiliate or Internet marketing is one of these techniques. You have definitely come across that word if you have been looking for quick methods to make money online. It is a tried and true approach, and many people have turned it into a science.

This makes it incredibly simple to get started, and learning from the successes of others ensures that you will be successful too.

Mobile marketing is a relatively new approach that emerged from internet marketing.

It has the same functionality and simplicity of use as internet marketing, but it is done on a mobile device (such as a smartphone).

To use mobile marketing tactics, you don't need a smartphone or any other type of mobile phone.

Some would say that because there is less competition, it is even easier than online marketing.

So let's get started with other easy ways to earn money online that are designed for stay-at-home moms and dads who want to earn some extra money online without using a lot of technology.

1. UPWORK | The largest independent market in the world

Upwork is an independent website.

You are earning an active income with Upwork.

Businesses and individuals publish services on Upwork that they want to outsource, such as article writing, video editing, app development, and coding. Upwork has a large number of tasks and services that can be outsourced ...

The beauty of it all is how low the barrier to entry is; all you have to do is be brilliant at anything. If you have a talent, like graphic design or coding, go to Upwork and start making money.

If you are thinking of working at Upwork, here is a tip: make sure your profile is complete and attractive. This will greatly increase your chances of getting job offers from potential employers. Displaying your best work or highlighting unique events will make you stand out.

2.YOUTUBE

You can really make money from YouTube, something not many people realize. If you are thinking of starting a YouTube business, there is one thing you need to know: according to the new regulations, if you want to establish a new YouTube channel from scratch, you must first meet YouTube's minimum level to be paid.

You will need 4,000 hours of playback and 1,000 subscribers in the previous 12 months to achieve this.

Once you have done that, you will be able to earn money.

What kind of money can you make on YouTube?

To be honest, you can have anything you want!

You'll be golden as long as you keep uploading great stuff that people want to see, and the longer the video, the more money you'll make ...

You can earn anywhere from a dollar to tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of dollars.

The more views you get, the more money you make and you get new subscribers too!

What you earn on YouTube is passive income; Produce some videos and they should keep making you money on a regular basis.

You can also make money on YouTube by selling paid sponsorships, but you will need a large following to do so, usually at least 10,000 subscribers.

Affiliate marketing is another way to make money, but we'll get to that later ...

3.AMAZONS

Although Amazon was founded by Jeff Bazos to sell books, today it offers just about anything you can think of.

Amazon is not just a place to buy your favorite toys; it is also a place where you can earn money. Here are three methods to do it ...

The first option is to use Amazon Mturk,

Which is similar to Upwork in that it allows companies to outsource jobs that are too complicated for a computer program to complete.

Audio editing and transcription, multi-language audio and video translation, website proofing, writing reviews, and a variety of other services are available.

Working in a few different activities can earn you up to $ 20 or $ 30 an hour.

This is a legitimate way to make money and they pay well. However, this is a source of active income.

The second option is to use Amazon's Kindle publishing service.

Earn money today by turning your ideas into an e-book. When you buy an ebook from Amazon, both Amazon and the publisher benefit. You can do it too.

The problem with Kindle publishing is that you have to sell a book first.

You have the option of writing the book yourself or hiring someone to write it for you.

You don't have to be a known author or work with a publisher to do this.

You can do it from the comfort of your home and start earning some extra money.

Isn't it fantastic?

The best part is that it is completely free, so sign up now and start earning money.

The money handling antics are handled by Amazon ...

and you can relax on your couch while earning good money ... passive.

If you're serious about Kindle publishing, I highly recommend doing more research on the subject. On YouTube, you can discover free videos and tutorials that will teach you the basics.

You may have to pay for a course first if you want expert assistance.

If you're interested, some people make more than $ 100,000 from Amazon's Kindle e-books.

Clearly, it is a market worth investigating.

The Amazon Associate Program is the third option.

This is a common and simple technique to generate passive income. All you have to do is sign up for the Amazon Associates program, which is free, and then choose from thousands of products on the Amazon website to promote. Amazon will provide you with a unique link, and each time someone purchases using your link, Amazon will pay you a commission of between 5 and 10% of the sale.

You can choose to be paid with Amazon gift cards, wire transfer to a bank account (currently only accessible in the United States, but if you reside outside of the United States, you can be paid by checks), or have the money put it in your Amazon account and start buying products with it.

4.CLICKBANK.

Clickbank is an online marketplace where product producers and affiliates can offer their courses or services to the general public.

Clickbank only offers digital items, but the beauty of this is that the commission pay is much higher than Amazon.

Some affiliates may pay you up to 75% commission for selling their products, while others will pay you nothing.

Note that the percentage can be as low as 5%. However, you can make a lot of money with ClickBank, even hundreds of thousands of dollars. Just go to Clickbank, choose a product to sell, and start making money.

5. PURCHASE AND RESALE OF WEBSITES, APPLICATIONS AND DOMAIN NAMES OF ONLINE COMPANIES

Flippa is the most popular platform for buying and selling Internet businesses.

It has a large audience and great options to publicize; is an auction platform for people who sell and buy digital products, similar to eBay.

Shopify websites, apps, domains, businesses, and Amazon FBA accounts are just a few examples.

If you have experience building apps or websites, you can sell them online and make money.

Better yet, if you have some extra cash and want to purchase already profitable ecommerce websites, apps, or stores, you can with Flippa.

You place an offer, similar to how you would on eBay, and if your offer is the highest, you have just bought an Internet business.

Selling Internet businesses is another way to earn money.

That's all there is to Flippa.

6. MEDIA OF BLINDS

Shutterstock is a marketplace for buying and selling digital media. Pictures, music, and video clips are examples of such media.

Most of the content is generated by freelancers and third parties, so if you're a photographer, take some amazing photos and movies. You can monetize your talent in shutter stock if you're great at producing sick beats. Every time someone buys one of your shutter stock photos, they are paid a commission, which can range from a few cents to a few dollars if they are lucky.

The key to making big money from shutter stock is to keep sending high-quality images on a regular basis.

7.ROVER

Do you like spending time with animals? Is it a particular dog? If that's the case, you should probably look at the rover.

Rover is a dog sitting service currently exclusively accessible in the United States and Canada. You can register as a dog sitter if you live in one of those two nations.

Earn money by taking care of dogs. Just by taking care of someone's dog, you can earn between $ 80 and $ 100 every night!

Simply taking care of someone's pet can earn you hundreds of dollars each week. How about a bargain?

8.- TAKING OF TAKES

Take Lessons is a platform where you can teach anyone any skill you want. Everyone has a skill that they can pass on to others, whether it's learning a language, cooking, playing a musical instrument, solving complicated math, and much more.

You can teach the people at TakeLessons anything you think they don't know and start making money.

9.FIVERR.

You've undoubtedly heard of Fiverr before as it is a quick and easy way to start making money online. But, if you haven't heard of it, it's an independent website where you can pretty much outsource anything for as little as $ 5 ... as long as it's legal.

There are a plethora of ways to earn money on Fiverr, to name a few.

Animations, logo design, packaging design, web and mobile design, social media design, Photoshop editing, architecture and floor planning, 3D models and product design, t-shirts and merchandising, SEO and many more are all possibilities.

Anything that can be outsourced can almost certainly be found on Fiverr.

Guys, go to Fiverr and look around you; it is a legitimate way to earn money.

10.DROP SHIPPING

Drop shipping involves selling someone else's product for a small or large profit without having to deal with logistics.

Regarding delivery So, in essence, you are a broker or middleman. This can be achieved by first creating a Shopify store and then connecting it to Oberlo.

Oberlo is Shopify-compatible software that many people use to find items to sell in their stores. Dropshipping is based on the idea that you build a store or other channel where customers can buy your products. Then after they have bought something from you, you pay the manufacturer, usually for a fraction of what you paid, and the manufacturer ships it to the consumer.

You will not even be able to see or feel the merchandise. The great thing about drop shipping is that you can set your own prices for the products you want to sell, keep the profits, and pay the manufacturer the rest.

Simply put, dropshipping. If you're interested in drop shipping, there are several tutorials available on YouTube that will walk you through the process of setting up your business, selecting items, promoting, contacting influencers, and finally delivering and receiving payments. For starters, it is a bit rewarding. You can make a lot of money ... with drop shipping, especially in the beginning.

The salary range for programmers is really wide. Even in the US (where salaries tend to be higher) I have seen programmers earn between $ 25,000 and $ 250,000 a year.

That's a 10-fold difference for practically the same skill. How the heck does that happen? Well, a lot depends on who you work for and when you were hired.

I got my first job out of college in 2005. I worked at a local computer repair shop creating websites with PHP. Anyway, he was withdrawing $ 25,000 a year or something in that range.

I got my first job out of college in 2005. I worked at a local computer repair shop creating websites with PHP. Anyway, he was withdrawing $ 25,000 a year or something in that range.

I had no idea that it was basically at the state minimum wage level. I also didn't realize how bad it was to work at a small computer repair company that was forced to work 50 to 60 hours a week.

Yes, that job sucked and luckily I didn't stick around for long.

Later I got a job at the University making $ 35,000 a year, which later turned into more than $ 45,000 a year. After that, each job greatly increased my income.

I finally achieved a fairly high level in relation to the part of the country where I live. I also know a few programmers who are earning on the higher end of the rage mentioned above ... $ 250,000 +.

This is what I have noticed in my own career and also what I have seen from other people.

  1. Growing companies pay better.
  2. It is easier to promote yourself in a successful business.
  3. Asking for more money usually makes you more money.
  4. The people who take advantage the most are the ones who ask the most.

That sounds simplistic and maybe a bit obvious, but I see those patterns playing out at all levels.

People who do less ask for less. The people who benefit the most are the ones who ask the most. Hell, they demand it!

I have a friend who has moved into consulting and managed to get his rate higher than he thought possible because he figured out how to ask for more money in a way that people are willing to say yes. He works the hours he wants, with the clients he enjoys working with, and spends a lot of quality time with his family.

But it didn't start there. He worked his way up the ladder of success by working hard, learning a lot, and going about business the right way. Along the way, he kept finding better opportunities and asking for more money.

None of this is complicated, but it generally takes more than 10 years for the results to be really obvious.

So my advice to you if you want to make as much money as you can as a programmer is ...

  1. Get a job in the most successful company you can.
  2. Ask for as much money as you feel comfortable
  3. Work really hard (and increase your value)
  4. Regularly request more money (either at your current job or elsewhere)

Repeat that process and reap the benefits.

This is how I have seen people consistently rise to the top of the programming profession.

-Brian

I currently employ 9 developers. My answer assumes the question is about employed developers, rather than co-founding developers.

I have only paid more than six figures, because they were indispensable (that is, without them, the project could not continue), that is, indispensable in a bad way. It's bad for the employer (risky!) And the employee (you want a vacation? Too bad).

I'd be happy to pay developers six figures, if they were indispensable in a good way (around risk and liability):

  • Risk: have skin in the game. Be upset when something goes wrong. Did you lose your job? What a thing. To go

I'd be happy to pay developers six figures, if they were indispensable in a good way (around risk and liability):

  • Risk: have skin in the game. Be upset when something goes wrong. Did you lose your job? What a thing. Go find another one. As a (small-time) entrepreneur, I support myself, and if a project doesn't work out, I lose my house! In my experience, someone is less likely to pay a developer significantly more than six figures if they are "just" an employee. My experience with developers is that they tend to be risk averse, so they are working for someone else, rather than starting their own company.
  • Responsibility - Taking responsibility away from myself (or other senior staff), but in a way that adds value to the business. So taking my direct reports off me is good, but empowering those direct reports to make decisions that are in line with the vision, mission and goals so that they add value every day is what I would pay the most for. Again, this comes down to risk - many developers (again, in my experience) prefer to do as directed by a direct supervisor, rather than take full responsibility for the result.

Some of this maybe comes from the type of people I've employed, but I don't think our advertising leaks the Others, and if I were to face a developer showing these attributes (with use cases and references to back them up) in an interview from work, I would be quite excited and much more willing to pay more.

All that said, the current paradigm works well for me (and other companies), and there is also room for a mixed approach and for people to change.

No one is immune from needing some extra money here and there. Happens. An unexpected bill comes in and the next paycheck doesn't arrive for a couple of days. Or, you discovered that you must pay your way to a business meeting.

At least you'll know what resources to tap into when you need it!

1. Conduct surveys

1. Conduct surveys

Taking surveys online is something that some people love and others hate. There is no in-between. But, the truth is that they can be useful when you need some extra money. Personally, I have made $ 20 or more in a day taking surveys from some of the major survey panels.

And let's face it: polls are easy. You can take them on your computer or mobile device, depending on the panel, and answer a series of questions to earn money.

Some survey panels even pay in cash, rather than points, making it easy to see what you've earned so far. Here are some of our favorites:

Drug addict survey

Vindale Research

Pineapple Research

PointClub

ShopTracker

Survey Junkie, Vindale Research, and Pinecone Research. These panels have a popular following and good payment histories. They are also some of the highest paid survey panels in the industry.

You will even get a $ 3 bonus for signing up for Pinecone Research and a $ 2 bonus for signing up for Vindale Research. That's $ 5 you didn't have before, and you didn't have to do anything more than fill out a couple of quick forms.

2. Reselling things

Take advantage of the things you have or find inexpensive things at flea markets or yard sales. Then resell them at higher prices!

The Internet offers you many ways to earn money from the things you already have. Amazon and eBay are two leading sites where you can sell tons of different things. Amazon even has a trade-in program that lets you get some money back for things like movies, video games, phones, and books.

3. Rent things

The sharing economy has taken over traditional rental stores. People like you and me can now rent just about anything to earn some extra money, including their parking spots.

Look at Zilok and you will see what I mean. This site allows you to set up a list to rent anything you are not using, such as electrical and electronic tools. You don't have to pay anything to publish your article, but Zilok will take a small commission out of your final rental fee.

Then there is SpotHero, which allows you to rent your parking space to someone who may need it more than you. You can even set a monthly fee for the space!

You can also rent your car to carpool drivers using HyreCar. If you have a couple of days a week when you don't normally need your car, you might as well get some money out of it. Let it sit for a few hours and you probably have your $ 50.

4. Set up a standalone concert

Freelancing is one of the best ways to make cash fast because you’ll utilise skills you already have to do something for your clients. Almost half of all Millennial workers are currently freelancing, either full-time or in addition to their regular jobs!

Almost anyone has a skill that they can turn into a freelance gig. Good at writing? Write blogs or social media content for businesses. Have you designed your own WordPress themes? Start earning cash doing the same for new bloggers.

Do you love taking photos as a hobby? Start taking custom orders from people who need the perfect photos for blogs, white papers, and advertisements.

You can get started freelancing right away by selling your services in local Facebook groups or your website. You might also want to jump-start your freelance career by joining Fiverr or Upwork, both freelance marketplaces that let you set up a profile and find people who need your skills.

5. Sell Your Photos

Photographers can absolutely turn a hobby into a full-fledged business if they have enough talent. However, if you want to make money fast, you won’t necessarily have the time to build a photography business, which can often take some money to get started.

Instead, utilize the web to sell some of your photos fast. Several stock photo sites will pay for your exclusive photos, meaning that most of them have clauses that state that you can only sell a photo on that site, rather than several.

Some sites will allow you to sell on multiple sites but will just pay you a little less in royalties.

Either way, you can start making money fast. Check out the following stock photo sites that will pay you for high quality photos:

Dreamstime – pays up to 60% of your sales and you can sell non-exclusive images

Getty Images – pays up to 45% commission

Shutterstock – pays up to 30% commission or up to 38 cents per photo downloaded through a subscription

6. Complete Quick Tasks

Micro tasking is one of the most popular ways for stay-at-home parents to make some extra cash for their households. Some people even use it as a main source of income.

Micro-tasks, also called short tasks, can range from super-quick data entry, photo tagging, research, and other tasks that you can complete several of in a few minutes. They don’t pay much, but you can get them done quickly which can lead to a decent hourly wage.

Some tasks can be longer and pay more, like blog writing and transcription work. The tasks involve many of the same types of jobs you’d expect to be doing as a virtual assistant, but you can do them 100% on your desired schedule.

Amazon Mechanical Turk is, by far, the most popular spot to find this work.

7. Start a Local Side Hustle

You never know how much money is waiting for you in your own neighbourhood unless you look for it. Think about anything your neighbours (or own family and friends) might need help with, like:

Cleaning cars

Cleaning houses

Landscaping and gardening

Shovelling snow or raking leaves

House sitting

Pet sitting

Babysitting

Moving furniture

Painting rooms or homes

Repair work

Your neighbourhood is probably ripe with opportunities to make some extra cash, and you can certainly make $50 quickly picking up one of these jobs.

Post an ad in the newspaper that mentions your skills, or gain access to a local buying/selling Facebook group that allows you to promote your services.

8. Sign Up for Websites and Apps

A lot of apps and websites pay you just for signing up, so it’d be silly not to take advantage of that!

Most of the time, all you need to do is register a new account. Some apps and websites will have a couple of other quick things you need to do to claim the bonus, like take a survey or scan a receipt. After that, you get your free money in your account.

Swagbucks, for example, pays an easy $5 just for signing up. Ebates pays $10 to sign up and gives you the choice between a credit to your account or a Walmart gift card.

9. Get Crafty

There are so many ways to make money on crafts, so if you’re crafty and creative, you’re in luck! First, you might want to try selling crafts at local craft fairs.

You can usually get set up for $20 or less for a table and have access to all the customers that come through the door wanting to buy unique goodies for their homes.

You can also sell online. Etsy is one of the best places to sell crafts. Set up a shop and sell directly to Etsy customers.

Depending on your type of skills, there are a variety of other places that pay for art, graphics, and other creative work.

DeviantArt, for example, is a place where you can sell digital artwork and photography. On RedBubble, you can turn your digital designs into clothing, pillow covers, wall art, canvas prints, and more.

10. Be an Expert

Do you have expertise on a topic or within an industry? Utilise your current or past jobs and experiences to become an expert for JustAnswer, a community that helps regular people get the answers they need from experts.

The highest-paying topics on the site are ones a lot of people might seek quick answers for, such as medical or law questions. The site has a lot of categories, though, like mechanics, veterinary, homework, and business, so you can most likely find something that fits your areas of expertise.

Final Thoughts

It takes just a bit of creativity and utilising what you know to make a quick $50. Don’t be afraid to ask your friends, family, neighbours, and even local businesses if there’s anything you can do for them to earn some fast cash.

Hopefully, these ideas set your wheels turning to come up with a quick cash-maker that works for you. What ways do you make money fast? We want to hear about it in a comment!

Have a look at my BIO, I have a great way to make money super quick- $100-$500 days.

"Programmer's Happiness" was a clever marketing slogan created for Ruby. It is more or less an exaggeration. Ruby is not the only programming language that can make programmers happy.

Smalltalk is incredibly concise and wonderfully elegant, according to Slant.co. Surprisingly, Ruby is ranked 24th! Take a look at Elegant Pharo Code.

Smalltalk also has a built-in, live coding IDE that makes Smalltalk the most productive of all the major programming languages in the world. Like the language itself, the IDE is supremely simple and easy to use. Compare that with the likes of Visual Studio, Eclipse, IntelliJ, and Xcode.

Like Ruby, Smalltalk is also great at metaprogramming. It has much the same power as Lisp.

Other languages could also make a claim of “programmer happiness.” Look at Python, Elixir and Golang.

  5. Keep going with your plan until you end up earning $ 10,000 per month. It may take a month, a year, or several years, but it's all about consistency, commitment, and a lot of faith after that.

But the important thing to note is, most people fail to follow through because it's not easy. Consistency, commitment and faith is extremely hard to sustain for a long period of time and demands a lot of sacrifices. If you can manage that, sure you can do anything you want in life including earning 10,000 euros a month.

Good luck.

I'm a Ruby programmer and I earn more than 30,000 a month. The way I did it was I used my software developer skills and learned Amazon FBA.

My company now sells millions and is growing like crazy. I'd recommend to start learning and take some of your income and launch a product. Watch my YouTube Channel at Aaron Cordovez to see some product selection videos for free.

Why pay a developer 30,000 per month when you can get 3 amazing developers for 30,000 per month? If you're looking for the money without relying on someone or climbing a ladder for 20 years, get on Amazon.

You could...

  • Find a job with a salary of $120k/yr
  • Contract, charging $120/hour over 1000 billable hours/yr
  • Build an application that generates $120k/yr in profit
  • Self-publish ebooks, selling around 10k units/year at $12/each

Either one of those options will require a substantial amount of work and a skill set much beyond Ruby on Rails.
