Did gay people ever want to be straight?

My first "marriage" was to another man. I put the marriage in quotation marks, not because I am against homosexual marriage or because I believe it is illegitimate, but because this relationship was like a marriage and something like that.

He was my best friend. We lived together in the same house for several years. We spend almost all of our free time together. And we share most of our opinions, values, and pleasures.

And, during that time, none of us had meaningful relationships with anyone else. Many people assumed we were a couple. In every way except one, it was a marriage. I say it as a boy who has been married to a

And, during that time, none of us had meaningful relationships with anyone else. Many people assumed we were a couple. In every way except one, it was a marriage. I say this as a guy who has been married to a woman for 20 years. My relationship with the man felt similar. They both involved love and partnership.

But …

Even though my friend is gay, I am straight. I was never even momentarily attracted to another man. And just because he's gay, there's no reason to assume that he was attracted to me. From what I can tell, I'm not your type.

In any case, we never sleep together, we never kiss, and we never hug. But, on many occasions, I thought "If only ..." We seemed like a perfect couple, except for one persistent problem. If, back then, you had given me the option of taking a magic pill that would have made me gay, or even bisexual, I would have taken it in an instant. If I had done that, and if my friend had been attracted to me, we would probably be married to this day.

So I certainly wished I was gay. And it stands to reason that there must be at least one gay person in the world who has been the reverse version of my situation.

If I could have any sexual orientation, I would choose bisexuality. It saddens me that I am missing the potential to find half the population attractive.

I think anyone in their right mind would want to be straight if possible ... If the same intense arousal, attraction and feeling of joy and ecstasy could be the same with someone of the opposite sex, then of course it is a "no-brainer". .. being straight, to say the least, would make life a million times easier. Usually creates grandchildren that most parents dream about and look forward to. You are able to live the entire American dream, as well as make your extended family happy and proud and not embarrass and bring shame and disappointment. It's like asking if you prefer to travel through life in a Porsche

The high incidence of mental health problems and suicide among gay boys and men should speak for itself. Many are kicked out of their family life and told that "THEY ARE DEAD TO THEM" and not to return. For people who grow up in Christian homes and who also fear spending eternity in hell for living that kind of immoral life, being straight would come with enormous relief and peace of mind ... Anyone who denies this needs serious mental help. I am gay, I know the pain that goes through the mind trying to come to terms with this living, dead-end nightmare. Now I will sit back and wait for the enemies to respond.
