Can competitive programming get me any job? Will participating in challenges at Codechef or Top Coder help you get a job?

Do you think having good logical thinking can help you in an interview?

Do you think that the ability to analyze the data they give you can improve your observation skills?

Do you think that knowing various data structures can expand your technical knowledge?

Do you think the ability to write code that covers all test cases can erase your detection tests?

Do you think that solving a given scenario efficiently can impress your interviewer?

Do you think creating scalable and fault-tolerant solutions can increase your chances of being selected in an interview?

If you have the yes answer to the questions above, then competitive scheduling will surely help you land a good job. It is not the only condition, but I feel that it is necessary to pass the interviews.

While entering contests or solving problems on these sites, you tend to focus on complexity and limitations. You will get to know the applications of various data structures. Try to think of a solution logically rather than going for the brute force approach. The challenges are like a practical experience. Don't you think it's worth spending some time and practice on it?

Happy coding. :)
